$9,899 <--great price on brand new ZX14 (2009)

I normally don't lay a plug out for dealers, but I found this deal and wanted to throw it out there.

One thing to note- the special edition and Monster edition are $250 more

The bikes are located in Lakeland FL.

kewl, please let me know how it is doing business with them. They've offered bikes dirt cheap in the past when they've had to many. I may snag one up too

I'm surprised. I suspected 7% FL sales tax maybe...thank you VERY much for letting me know how it went. I'll be hesitant to plug 'em again around the net.

The question is, is that $9899 the REAL price?
We have a dealer around here in MD who I went to because they were selling an 08 at like $9700. Well by time they added everything else they wanted $12200. Well screw that I said, and walked.
I did my homework before hand. I know what they paid for the thing, I know how much shipping is, and I know about the setup credit (per kawasaki's price sheet you actually get credited $67 for setup), and I knew about the hold back.
So be careful of that kind of crap. In my opinion ALL dealers are crooks, it's a matter of finding which one will screw you the least.
Long story short I got my 08 in Feb at a different place for $8700 OTD after trade, so I decided to get a lo-jack and a few other goodies that brought it to $9595 for everything.

You would think that given the current economical situation dealers would be a little more willing to deal, but apparently that's not the case. When I went to that first dealer and told them they were nuts for asking what they were they actually had the nerve to tell me that I wasn't "their sort of customer". LOL. If you mean the type that rolls over and takes it up the ass because they are ignorant and stupid enough to pay inflated prices for nothing, then you're right.... I'm NOT their type of customer, nor will I EVER be.
Their loss, because I got my bike that day, for less, right down the street.

When I went to the dealer to take mine up there to make sure the frame is ok (which it is) I told them I had $10000 to spend (would keep my payments the same as mine now) they called me back and said they would let me have a 08 for $10600, told em can't do it, then they called back and said $10300 and told em I appreciate it, but I can drive a few hours and get one for less than $10k, so they said they would do it for 10k out the door... My point is, they DO have room to play with, it depends on how greedy they want to be!

@eklipse636;
I played the phone game at first too. I could have gotten an 08 OTD for a little less than I actually paid but I would have had to drive 2 hours each way and rent a trailer (it was freaking cold old), which in the end would have come to exactly what I DID pay.
The one dealer (the first guys I went too) talked it down enough to get me to actually come in (after having discussed the fact I could go somewhere else and get the bike for less). But once I was there and we started talking they added $200 to what we discussed on the phone.... just to start, then it just went up from there. I guess that's what their tactic is. Low sticker, or BS the customer to get them in the store, dick tease them with something fast and shiny, then take'em for what you can. And I'll admit, when I got my first bike that might have worked on me, but not now.

Obviously the guys I eventually bought from didn't pull this stuff. Yeah they listed things at full MSRP, but they came down from that very easily, and came within $100 of what I would have gotten the bike for had I traveled that 2 hours each way, but with the added convenience of being like 3 miles from my house. I actually walked away that day feeling GOOD about spending what I did, which is no easy thing to accomplish with me.

I got by 08 ZX14 s.e. for 10600 otd WITH LoJack!! That was the CASH price...IDK if that makes any kind of difference. The good thing is...my bike was recently stolen at the 1st of May, the insurance company totaled it out and paid out 10200. So it held value pretty well for it to be a year later.

Cash will often make a big difference. I find dealers LIKE cash buyers, so they will come down lower than they would for those financing... since it means cash in their pocket NOW.... instead of months down the road when the finance company decides to pay them.

Baring any horrendous event that destroys the thing, I plan to have this 14 for a long time. So I'm hoping my next bike (whatever/whenever it will be) will be a cash purchase.
