my 07 is better than new
Well I finally made the decision to get my suspension checked out. I know a lot of people may do it themselves, but I went to a race shop and I am truly amazed at the difference it makes. I used to have to really work to lean the bike but now it's like a 600 going through the turns. It holds it lines way better that before and doesn't bottom out like it used to. Believe me it was the best $45 dollars that I have spent. I'm going to NJ Motorsports Park next week and I can't wait to get on the track and really wring it out. Whoo Hoo!

I am sure suspension upgrades are the ultimate. I'm going to enjoy this for a while and start saving up for the next step.

We've got Lee's cycles here... ride up, walk around back and for 35 bucks Jeremy Toye will tune your suspension.

Where did you go for the tuning?
I live in NJ and Washington Cycle is real good at suspension work. All the racers go to him.

I guess for $45 they set the stock suspension up correctly for your weight.
Could you outline what changes they made?

I went to Washington Cycle Works in NJ and they measured the bike suspension without me on it. Then they measured the suspension with me on it and they calculated the correct front/rear ratios as they adjusted first the rear and then the front. I went for a test ride and was happy so that was that. If I wanted it adjusted more one way or the other they would have worked on it some more.
I don't know what the"correct" ratio is and I don't know how much they adjusted the front and rear. They did record it in their book so I guess I could call them to get that type of info. But seat of the pants tells me that this is great for me.

All the shop can do is set your sag. compression and damping settings are completely determined by the riders preference and riding style.

Wow.... I've heard a few of the guys here in FL doin the same but I believe they paid a bit more(if I recall correctly). $45 is money well spent if you got those results, congrats! I'm in Orlando and I haven't found a shop that I trust yet on that level. My 06 feels fine but I wonder what a little tweeking would do for it. I would kick myself in the butt if I trusted a shop and they deminished the bike's handling
