Does the PCV connect to the plug into the ECU or the fuel injector harness ?

If it does plug into the ECU , are the harnesses and ecu the same for the 06-07 ?

Just finished installing my PC5 on my 2007 ZX14 engined race car along with autotune. It started up first shot with no problems and the AFR readout on the PC looks good. I will be running it this weekend to start mapping with the autotune.
Can anyone recommend what target AFR I should be looking at? It is used for circuit racing and fuel economy is not an issue.
I'll let you all know how it goes.

Roy,
I bought mine throgh fuel-moto. It does match up with the 06-07 harness. Plugs into the same connector as the PC3 did, not into the ECU. The connector is different to the one you show in the picture above.

13:1 will give you the best number for the dyno, and 12.8/9:1 will give you the best number if you get a lot of fresh air (ram air) to the intake. These are WOT numbers btw.

ok , that is good. I wonder why the PowerCommander site shows that the 2009 only uses the PC5 and the other years only use the PC3.

OK... So after reading this thread again, there wasn't many questions answered about the 08 zx14. You guys told me in another post that the pcIII off my 06 won't fit the 08. I just called to order the pcv and the company I was going to order it from isn't sure if it will work with a 08, bc dynojets website says 09 only... SO, do I need to order a pcIII or the pcv for the 09 and it will fit my 08?

Schnitz is listing them for '06-'09.

I'd think only the maps wouldn't be compatible.

So what would I do about a map?? Would my only options be a custom map or autotune? Don't have the $$ for either...

I just talked with my dealer about getting the PCV for my '07. He told me absolutely no problem. He was not sure why they listed it that way but he knows it will work. I am going to get the auto tune as well.

Borrow someone's autotuner just long enough for it to build you a map....
or install the map into the PC5 long hand.

yes you can cunt and paste the pc3 map into the pc5, except you will have to make cells for the 15% TPS column.
This can be done with the pc5 and autotune, or make 15 % column cells by putting in assimilated numbers from the corresponding ones in the 10% and 20%...

Ok, just got off the phone with schnitz tech. He told me that my pcIII off my 06 will work fine on the 08. The pv5 works on ALL 2006-2009 zx14's.

But where can you get a PC5 map for an '06-'07?
The PC site doesn't have any listed.
'06-'07's would need different maps than '08-'09's wouldn't they?
You would have to manually enter each cell value to install a PC3 map onto a PC5 correct?

The only difference is the size of the injectors, 33 lb vs 08-09 are 40 lb.
Use the appropriate map for the model year, but any PC3 or 5 plugs in.

Damn... Now I figure this out... When I posted I bought the new bike someone said it wouldn't work... Thanks dubious!
Even though the injectors are different, that has nothing to do with the performance of the pc I assume...

I am trusting your info above .
I was not sure if the plugs and wire locations in the plug had changed
I do know they take different maps due to the injectors for sure
PC function has not changed.

The info cam directly from the tech's mouth. I have no idea where 06redzx14 got his information from telling me they won't work...
So the pc's ARE in fact compatable, just the maps are different...

I actually have a PCIII from a 2005 ZX10 on my bike. I had to cut n paste the 06 zx14 map into it, which was actually really easy to do. Actually, the zx10 PCIII is better because it gives me the option of the extra 2000+/- rpms that the 10 has if I ever need it, where the zx14 one is disabled. Dont know if you can enable the higher rpms or not on a zx14 specific Power Commander. ?

Yes, it will take a few runs/cycles to fully adjust. Dubious has a good understanding of the pcv and bazzaz, he could verify this I believe.
P.S. PULL THOSE FLIES!!!
