FP Velocity Stacks !
This topic has been dragged thru the mud but I had to post up.
I've had a set of the FP stacks on the shelf for quite some time. After reading past
posts and finally getting some free time from work I decieded to put that set on Beths
bike. While I have not run it down to the dyno to see what if any difference, I can say
that I like them. For obvious reasons the flow to the throttle bodies is better just by
design. The fact that they seal 100% better than the factory one do tells me the ram
air will work much better at all speeds.
Anyway ..... just wanted to kick this back out there.

I did a lot of fab'ing up stacks for the /callvote nextmap09. From 1" shorter to 1" taller and the in betweens, all on a dyno. Interestingly I could shift the TQ around some, and inc or dec it by a few ft/lbs, but nothing really significant for a street bike.
Had I been a racer, maybe that would have been the ticket. though... every little bit. I'd suspect if the OEM 14's do not seal well, then maybe there is a better improvement..?

Hey zxbob, how are you doing? Do you miss your 14 yet?
I think the best thing about this topic it helps to get to the truth. Never really like BS. Also ATP kit still working well.

I have the high speed stack on my bike and really like them. They definitely fit better--

The stockers do not seal at the air box any where near as good as these do !

Since the air is being pushed in, a lower profile is better, you really don't tune the intake on a turbo other than with boost control..!
Preventing leaks is key.
Chris Jones told me he had he had spent countless hours trying to smooth out the casting and sheet metal joints in the airbox, and it made ZERO difference...
Turbo... ram it in there....... and make sure you get all of it though...

Do the stacks just pop out and pop back in or in the install a little more involved? Any special tools required?
Edit: The Schnitz web site states they add 3-5 HP. Do you think that's true?
