Wet Nitrous?
I've heard that 40 is about the most you want to spray with a dry setup on the 14. Any idea of what would be safe wet?
I know Kaw-Rick has had good luck running more than 40 wet. Just curious if anyone else has done it as well?
I have seen stock Busa motors take 60 progressive without trouble, even at the mile. Can the 14 handle it?

14 can take more, just i wouldn't trust it on the stock valve springs. i'd trust 60 progressive on a stock engine with upgraded valve springs all day.

as long as you get equal amounts of nitrous (spray bar or direct port) and the required increase in fuel, you can go as big dry as wet
IMO, the best setup would be direct port "dry" setup with secondary injectors if you have direct injection. I think these bikes are direct injection??, so if the injectors are set up correctly you just turn on the secondary set with the nitrous, but they are pulsed just like the normal injectors(have the ecu running both sets as one set) so you dont have as much fuel building up on the inlet valve as with a wet system that just sprays a constant mist. its just so much easier to go wet and it still works great. the fuel build up is one of the reasons why you really dont want to spray at low rpm, and one of the reasons why full out nitrous motors are high rpm(less time for build up).

I have springs and retainers. You can do way more than 40 dry. ALL of the current Adams nitrous bikes are now dry according to Garron @ Adams.
After a couple changes in May, i plan to have it tuned on 20s or 22 jets on stock motor. (has 18's in it now).

if it doesnt blow up, it should be one of the most powerful stock motor 14's i know of, LOL
Coby said the other day they had a stock motor up to 290whp with 24 jets, but it was pretty borderline on reliability.

our bikes do not have secondary injectors. there are ways of running a motor map without the additional fuel and only switching to the nitrous map when the nitrous is activated, even if you use a delay.

the stock pistons are limited to about 300 HP from what I have heard.
The lack of compression height, or ring land above the top ring makes them vulnerable.
The reason many are going with -2mm rods, and +2mm above the wrist pin allowing pistons with +2mm above the top ring.
From what i understand low spots at the valve releifs get eaten under big boost and big nitrous...

I already have an Adams spray bar, so I could use that. Silver, which valve springs/retainers are you using?
Also, what is the limit of the stock injectors/fuel system for a big dry setup?

I'm not positive what brand, Adams installed them. I can find out.
the stock injectors will do 300whp, at what point you need a reg. to raise fuel pressure i'm not sure. I will find out though.

How long did you spray 100 horse wet and were you pulling timing to do this? I think this would be critical for longevity.

I love the wet nos systems. Theres just so many guys that dont watch the other things. rpm, timing so on. Got to study up on it.

About 8 seconds progressive. I pulled 8 degrees of timing out...........This was on 87 octane pump gas.

I pull 6 degrees, with an 80 shot. And run 110 octane. Read your plugs. they tell the story. And please stay off the rev-limiter.

speaking of plugs.....
I have only sprayed mine two passes at the track, a few pulls on the street changing the controller, and never on anything except c16 or Q16 (7% fuel added for Q) I pulled my plugs for the first time since getting the bike back from the shop who installed and tuned it. To my surprise it had the stock plugs in it, and number 1 and 2, the electrode was nearly burned all the way off. it seemed to run okay before pulling the plugs, but now I am scared to spray it, and its going to be a pain in the rear to load it up and drive it all the way back to where it came from. I put fresh cr10EKs in it, and plan to ride it around in the next couple days and see if i notice anything fishy, hopefully it didnt hurt any valves or anything. What would You do? I'm waiting to hear back from shop who tuned it

ususally #4 burns up faster, for some reason the CHAMBERS(COOLANT?) runs hotter on that end, and I know a guy who burned up his motor when he ran it out of fuel pressure, the dusty cycle was 88% I think, and the injectors locked open, then #4 starved as the fuel took path of least resistance and burned #4 piston.
For only 2 plugs and on that end to burn off, one of the things I would consider is air leaks, or lack of fuel.... injectors in particular
What size is the shot, and what is your max duty cycle?
Very important to keep an eye on duty cycle IMO....
It will tell you if you need more fuel pressure too....

I havent checked the duty cycle, and i dont have a wideband, (but one is coming soon). I know these factors are critical, but i though since i paid good money to what i thought was the best zx14 tuner around, I wasnt worried about my simple setup.
it is 4, 18jets in an adams spraybar, not pulling any timing (they said it was safe for this size shot), on Q16.
i have an ignition module on the way, and i plan to take it back soon and have it tuned while i watch. And i would like a good explanation why they didnt bother to put colder plugs in it while they had the motor out changing valve springs. My bill was close to 4K for the parts and labor i bought at the same time. I had other problems not discussed also, but if they dont at least reply to me, I'll probably get banned from a couple sites after posting my whole experience.
