trip to the track

So... I've come to the conclusion that a gearing change is in order lol. I went to track tonight and got a few runs in with the smeg. it's a pretty slow track, so the times are hard to compare to ones near sea level. I got pretty consistant toward the end, but was fighting wheelies the entire time. I went from pulling 1.58's/6.43@115 to running 1.62-1.66 and 6.40@116.8 with a best of 6.37@115.

I did get to race the guy on his zx10 all night and the only race that I lost was due to traction problems followed directly by an 11:30 wheelie lol. He showed up at 65" wheelbase and was flying but I beat him on the tree and was able to hold him off.

All in all the night was a success. I got some much needed seat time, and got to hang out with good friends.

Isn't it great how a night at the track is kinda' like therapy? You can come home with a feeling of relief yet frustrated at the same time.

You would like my track I bet. 66' above sea level and all, but it's typically hot and muggy for 9 months of the year. Looking at your times VS. my times, your 60' time of 1.58's/6.43@115 to my 1.71/6.46 @ 116.48,,,, I'll try to duplicate some of your numbers this Wednesday.

Good goin' Dude !!

The 1.58's were with stock pipes too lol. I ran sportsman tree all night which had me pretty frustrated but by the end of the night I was back into the .0's with a best tree of .015 .

Nicely done, both of you. I've got to say that I'm chuckling a bit Bawls. You got that pipe on their and suddenly that 16t is a little peppier, particularly at stock wheelbase and footshifting. I am so close to going back to the 17t, but the roll on power is holding me back for the moment. Still, I see the 17 back on in the very near future. When guys at the track realize that I'm 250 fully geared, -1, and at stock wheelbase they are a little more appreciative. Now... the ones that have ridden my bike that are used to the stretched ones...they are waaaaayyyy more appreciative. lol I almost got there last night guys. SO close, yet so far...

By the way, yes it is SO therapeutic. I'm beginning the process of selling the house and had a really crappy week dealing with people not doing what they said they were going to do. After going to the track, hanging with good folks, having some good runs, I feel great! Good medicine.
