Mercury sticks work the best .... if you can still buy em.

Gauges work if they are liqued filled ones ~ non liqued filled have
to much fluctuation in the needles for a good reading.

Try "Cycle Gear" for motion pro mercury sticks ..... about $50.00

I have a gauge, seems to be well damped as the reading is quite steady.

Just had a look in the garage, it's called an STE Synchrometer and it's made in West Germany. Possibly obsolete now, I bought it about twenty years ago.

I would like to know this also. My bike has 15K on it and recently developed a weird idle/stall issue I'm trying to sort out. I thought it might have to do with an imbalance. Anyone live in eastern Kentucky, southern Ohio, or western West Virginia and have sync tool to lend?

I am after that cash window for money or trophy. Come up against, "The Hand" I will have the merc dialed-checked before I am up at that line. I'll be hanging that stick on the bike all day long making sure she is going to smack that hand right off his lever.
