What gloves do u wear?

Looking for opinions on the best/most comfortable gauntlet glove? I am unfortunately going to have to buy without trying on so am looking for input. I do some sport riding on the street but alot of the time just sport touring. Cold weather performance really isn't necessary but mostly am looking for something that offers good protection and is comfortable while going over the cuff of my jacket. Thx.

Frank Thomas.
Got a pair at Cycle Gear for track days.
Kangaroo skin on the palms saved my hands during high speed get off.
Stuff is barely marked but hands were heavily bruised.
The Joe Rockets they replaced wore out in one year. Just by use, no spills.
Joe Rocket = junk.
Have Cortech Sarabs for cooler weather. Comfortable, well made and reasonably priced.
Not being able to try them is tough.

Yeah I hate not being able to try stuff before buying but that's the way it is living here, they dealers carry a few cheap things that they will be able to sell but anything different or expensive has to be ordered online as they won't risk bringing it in, I should also say that Jean Jacket is acceptable riding gear for most people around here. Got to love small town Newfoundland!

Unfortunately no such thing as a local BMW/Ducatti dealer here, I believe the closest one is over 1000 miles away. I decided to go with the Held gloves after, hope they fir true to the sizing chart. Thx again.

Can't remember the brand I have but watch for armor plate on the palm. Nice if you spill but causes ware on your hand grips. I had to adjust my arm position to elbows out so that the plates do not rub a notch in my grips. I'll be looking for a new set of gloves and grips some day soon.

Helimot is a local custom leather suit maker in SF Bay area... one of the best in the industry and truly top-notch quality... a lot of local racers use them, and you probably have seen their mark on magazine pictures as well.

I have not had the money to get a custom made suit from them, but my wife bought me a pair of their gloves for my birthday. At $200 a pair, the Buffalo pro that my wife got for me is damn expensive, and I would have NEVER paid that much for a glove myself... but, not wanting to piss off the wife, I kept this pair.

Well, they are the best gloves I have ever had... cool in the summer and warm in the winter, good soft protection (never had to try them in a crash, but have seen people who crashed in them and gloves needed minimal repair afterwards.)

My gloves were a bit tight fit at the beginning, almost uncomfortable for the first month or so... but afterwards, they broke in and fit very nicely. They will resize fingers for about $7 per finger afterwards.... mine didn't need any. (well, the thumbs are a bit too long for me, but not much that needs fixing.)

hope this helps.

I have Alpine Stars short SP-X gloves in size XL...they ran a little long in the fingers. I just got a new pair of longer GP Plus for Christmas in size L (red/white/black) and they feel too tight in the hand and knuckles. I may be selling those soon. So far only worn once.

I have some Harley FXRG gloves for colder weather.

I got a few pair of Alpinestars. The one's I got have the last two fingers sewn together and they cost about $160. Had them over a few years. I love them. I love their Jackets as well. I got a pair of SMX plus boots and they aren't bad but I stick to my puma 1000's when I wanna feel safe.

I used a pair of Astars SP-2 gloves last season and like them a lot.

I have a pair of Puma 1000 too- the V1.
They are very comfy, but heavy and bulky IMHO,
compared to my Sidis.

Got these babies 2 weeks ago and they are sweet- the SMX-Plus

I picked up some more 1000's in all white just the other day from this site! LOL. They are a little Robo Cop-ish but they feel like they mean business and that's what I like aboutt them.
