ZX-14 Carrozerria VSTARWheels
I am thinking about getting a set of these for my 08 and was wanting to know some opinions. I will be getting them in black so should I get them anodized or powdercoated? I know how powder stands up over time but I am not real familiar with ano? Also anybody have these, pics, feelings toward them etc? Thanks for you input

I personally had a bad experience with Carrozzeria. They provided me with two wheels that were different shades of color, and would not correct the situation. These were the Stage 1 wheels.
Regarding the Vstars, I have heard that they have a very shallow drop center. This makes changing the tires very difficult.
Again, that's just my experience/info...other's will vary, I'm sure.

Our mod here zxBob is a big Carrozzeria fan.
He has them on all his bikes.
All I know is that the forged aluminum Marchesini set
for the zx14 is almost 3 lbs. lighter than the Carrozzeria.

I do like the CZ wheels.
I've got / had 4 sets between the 1400's and my ZRX's
Never any issues with them.

Yeah, I would think about Marchesni's but they are a little too high . Im glad some of you have had good experiences with them. I think I will try them and see what I think. Also did you have to run a different sprocket with them on your 14? Thanks again for the help

Your wheels will come with a sprocket (your choice of size) but FYI the CZ wheels
use the same sprocket as the Kawasaki ZRX 1200.

Bob, do you do your own tire changes?
The problem with the shallow drop center on these Vstar wheels is well documented.
Here is the pair of non-matching rims they would not correct, after I paid $100 to ship them back:

Anyway tech, good luck with them.

You know what? These threads kill me.
Here's an analogy:
Tech: Anyone have experience with Doctor Smith? I'm thinking of using him.
Shane: Doctor Smith gave me bad service, and did not correct his errors. He also raped my daughter and goat. There is a well known problem with Doctor Smith's product and/or service.
Bob: I went to see Doctor Smith 4 times, and everything was ok.
Tech: Ok, cool. I'm going with Doctor Smith!
A little dramatic, but why even ask the question....

Say, Slates, does that GPR damper leak like they are well known for? Maybe you have a Genie riding in your back pocket...

ha...if I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have luck at all. I know if I had an issue with the wheels Brock would have made it right.
No problems so far with the GPR, but I've only had it for 1.5 years. I think I discussed that with them before I ordered it and would just send back to rectify the problem. If you're going to run straps to the top of the frame or top triple, I would go with GPR.

I do not do my own tire changes, I run them over to the local Cycle Gear and have
them done ...... they have never said anything was a P.I.T.A.

Well, that's good to hear. It is defintely a well-known issue (unless the wheel has been revised)...maybe more for those who aren't using a machine to do tire swaps?
I would have given them a try if I didn't have the 1st bad experience...you know that old saying, "Fool me once...."

Sorry....type-O...with straps it was supposed to say NOT go with the GPR.
