Shop Lifts?
I think the time has come for me to stop working on my bikes in the floor. So, I am looking for feedback on some air-powered lifts.
Here are two I've been looking at:
http://www.handyindustries.com/shop/product_view.asp?idProduct=46&D=1&S=21
http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=TPPROCYCLE%2DDT%2FTPXLT%2DKIT
Does anyone have experience with either of these, or any other suggestions? By the time I add accessories, the Handy is much more expensive.

I would go with the second lift, it is clocest to the one we use in the bike shop I work at. The one I use is hydraulic operated.

My only experience is with complete hydraulic.
The first one I owned was flawless and the service was great.
The second one I bought was poor finnish, out of the crate the paint was flaking off, so it obviously was not prepped right before paint, and the service was slow and poor this last time around.

They have a cheaper one that is just hydraulic, but since I have air I might as well use it.

Shane........I have the air powered lift and two electric lifts. ( all Handy's ) I like the electric lifts better for a few reasons. No air line on the floor and the smoothness of the electric lift lets you lift the bike and make little fine adjustments in height especially if you have limited ceiling space. I have the 12" side extensions, wheel vice and drop down front ends on all. I even have the little trays on two that attatch to the side extensions. It's easy to get to wide though if you are only working on bikes. We do ATV work also so the extensions are a must. You can't go wrong with the Handy products............

They have these on ebay - 800lbs
290301620841
Cheaper but i don't the quality though.
Smaller versions - might be handy to have around - 170309697768
Not as high, but useful maybe.
I don't know how the bike 'sits' on these - maybe the engine/frame.
Note Aussie prices, so you yanks are looking cheaper still.

yup, for the price the frame is high quality, and sturdy, and allot oif accessories come with it which are not included in the direct lifts, but I was quite bummed with the paint quality.
Since it doesn't cross any borders, you might have better warrantee....I find it seems some USA companies unload / send their junk to Canada , simply because its difficult for Canadians to get restitution, when shipping and brokerage fee's are so expensive.
Luckily my mastercard is my friend and warantee....

This may not work for what you want, but I have been using a cherry picker ( $175) from auto zone and suspend the bike from under the lower triple and at the frame rails behind the tank. I use a #10000 flat snatch strap and pick it up about center of the tank. I can get it over 3 ft. off the ground. Tie it off to keep it from spinning. You have total access this way. I also load it into my pickup this way.

I have the Handy compressed air model and love it, having the side extensions really work great for laying tools & parts on.
I had one of the smaller Harbor Freight models and it served it's purpose but the Handy is more stable but at an added cost.
