WHAT SIZE SOCKET TO TAKE FRON WHEEL OFF
What size is that socket to unscrew the bolt to take off the front wheel?

You mean the 4 screws that tighten the axle clamp, or the the big ole honkin' axle nut itself?

Use the hex end of Ye Olde sparkplug socket(OLD school - not that metric crap) - perfect size. Just put the extension through the socket and use the hex part in the axle.

I have never removed my front wheel, but I did check it for proper torque. I believe all there is is to remove the 4 pinch bolts on the axle clamp and the axle nut. Probably some spacers and crap in there too but I don't think you need to loosen anything to get them off.
I by my tools at Sears.
Use a 6mm hex tip socket and ratchet for pinch bolts.(Tip: check to make sure the socket has 6mm embossed on the side if you buy a single. The label often falls out and employees stick them back in the wrong sized socket.) Pinch bolts are torqued so I would not recomend a simple "L" shaped allen wrench.
Buy a 13/16" Craftsman sparkplug socket with 1/2 square drive hole at Sears. One end will have a hex that fits the hex hole in the front axle nut perfectly. Remove the rubber insert from the spark plug socket. Put a 4" long,1/2" square drive extension down inside the socket and click it into the square hole at the inside, bottom of the socket. The extension should be inserted so that the stem is inside of the socket where the spark plug would normally go. Attach square drive hole of extension to 1/2" square drive ratchet. You have the wrench ready to go with the correct size hex for the axle nut. -----------Sorry if I gave too much info on the socket and extension but I was a little confused as to how that was going to work before someone explained it to me. It's really very easy - just the opposite end you would normally attach the extension.
I'd use a torque wrench to tighten everything back up. If you need torque specs, just ask, I'll look them up.

Here is the tool I use that will fit all your bikes now and in the future. Best bang for your buck for all around use. I'm sure you can find it cheaper elsewhere but I'm not going to do your searching for you. Google is your buddy.

That's cool I never thought about a sparkplug socket would do the trick

I don't believe the hex on a 13/16" sparkplug socket will reach as deeply into the axle as the combo socket pictured above. But the sparkplug socket will work fine and you can go buy one at any Sears.
