I got here in 2006... (same time as Steve FL- although I think he posts a bit more??!!) but I was lurking for years. I understand what FBA is saying... but I understand that if this site went down... 'we' would probably go somewhere else. I am just a bit surprised at how quickly 'they' (and I mean no disrepect) made it their home. It does appear as though as a group 'they' came in and had little respect for what was here. Again... it is their perogative... but it seems that most threads turn to Smackhouse bickering immediately. We can pick and choose what we read and what we say... so we can weed through it... but it did lose a bit of the friendly 'easy going' feel. I have no problem with Fish's 'moves' because it is a business and he has to do what he feels is best. There seems to be a lot more posting on this site now... and that is good for Fish. I chose to not participate at zx14.net and chose to come here because it was a bit more what I was after... but things change. Obviously the group that came here enjoys what they do and what they say... and that is cool. There are just some of the members here that had an overnight change that will take some time. Many of us have gotten to know the people here and have a lot of respect for them. Our comfort zone has changed and I believe it will take time to get to know each other. The only thing I say... and I am a pretty honest poster... is that this is not zx14.net.. (yet) and I hope that the group that has 'moved here' can respect that. If that is what the membership and Fish want... then so be it. There is good and bad with any change and right now the change has shown the 'bad' side for some of us. I am sure that as we get to know each other we will see a lot of the good. If not.... then we can find somewhere that we are comfortable at. Lastly, I do recognize a lot of the 'new' group as posters that have been here adding info over the years... but they seem to have gotten a bit more rude and pushy. I don't post a lot.. and when I do it is most times opinion such as this. I do agree that people were a bit timid to ask a question that may have been asked already for fear of getting flamed. Some of the 'newer group' had some good input about that. I don't need a website to bicker or to show my manhood... so if I don't like it I can always leave. I wish everyone a good day/evening and hope that we build a good environment for everyone to give and get good information. I know some will agree and some will think that we a crying about it. I am just addressing a post/thread with my opinion as everyone else is. Doesn't mean I am right, so take it or leave it. Again, it is no big deal to me as I don't partake in the back and forth posts.

Back on topic (damn new guys are like a bunch of old ladies taking a subject off on a bunch of meaningless tangents...): I'm one of the "before" guys, though only been on here going on two years.

I haven't been around much since the new guys got here, a combo of suddenly feeling like a outsider on my favorite website and being more than busy enough to have better things to do.

I do miss BS'ing with you guys, though, so I'll be back and redig my crossways rut on the Bikeland road soon enough. FBA you just gotta adapt to the fact it aint our site and they got as much right as any to be here (I know you know that, but sometimes you gotta read it from someone else).

And look, I'm turning over a new leaf. I didn't cuss once! Un-fucking-believeable! Now back to work I go...

Well I guess I would be considered a old timer. I got started back in 2006 and I think I've been good at showing off the softer side of the ZX-14. I love touring and this bike is one hell of an excellent touring bike.
I like sharing information on this motorcycle and when I owned one I posted everything from places we've gone to replacement of brake pads & fork oil, hell I almost forgot the installation of the Centerstand which all motorcycles I still believe should have. OK I'm Old school. Don't give up hope on me all, I may surprise you with unit Number 2. Hell I've owned 2 ZX-6's, 2 ZX-11's, 2 1st gen VFR800's and 3 2nd Gen VFR 800's why not another add another ZX-14 to the lot right.

I must confess, I received hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in free gifts from this site long before I even signing up; and continue to receive one or two gifts a week.

Kawasaki did a great job in building a wonderfully versatile platform from which to build ,arguably, the best motorcycle every made.

But that is all they did! Build the platform.

The unselfish sharing of information by members of this site has been instrumental in allowing me to set-up and tune this platform into a machine custom made for me with the fewest redo s, mistakes, and F#ckups of any motorcycle (or motored anything for that matter) that I have ever owned.

I am humbled by the generosity of complete strangers to give valuable, nearly priceless and in some cases bike saving and life saving info for only the sake of giving it.

Due to this site nearly every mod I have made has been spot on. And, no one person on here has given this gift that I so appreciate (although some have given more then others) it is the collective that has made this possible. So I urge us all not to judge anyone here base on where they are from, how many post they have made, and /or how long you think they have been aware and appreciative of this site; but rather on the content of their character.

Thank you all, new and old.
