been awhile

hey guys have not posted for some time now. been down in the dumps so i was not up to posting. as some of you know early in the season i lost #3 rod it was still under warranty so they covered it.i might have gotten 250 miles if that. then #4 connecting rod came through the cases. i was lucky, kept my cool, i was full throttle @ 5th gear.well bike is still under warranty. kawasaki says i have to go back to the same shop. oh well, after racing the twelve for a few years and rebuilding motors i know there are only 2 reasons this could have happen.the reuse of the old rod bolts, and improper tourqe. do not want to drop the pan to see if there is a nut at the bottom shops can be funny.but could there be another reason this has happen. i put so much into this bike man just depressed the hell out of me.but april will be here soon and we'll see if this shop will stand up and do the right thing

that sucks... I've heard a few other horror stories, but almost all other owners say that their bikes have been nothing but reliable.

Welcome back Jay ....I really hate this had to happen to you .. I had problems with a few bikes back in the day that the dealer would not fix, so i know how you feel ...It's a real downer when you pay all that money and shit goes wrong . Top that off with the dealer being a total ass.. You are mostlikey correct that the dealer was the cause of the second motor taking a dump ..It sucks that you have to take it back to them again ..I would raise some hell with Mother Kawi and tell them no way will you use that dealer again ..Tell them to pick you a different dealer to take the bike to and pray for better luck ...

Just thinking here but why don't you pick up a used motor off ebay , plug it in and go riding till yours is ready .. You can allways resell the motor if yours after the rebuild works out to be a trouble free motor..

My friend had this happen years ago with Yamaha and he had to call the Regional Rep. for Yamaha and go around the dealer as it was his second trans in 5 months. The second dealer had a good Tech that was great with Sport Bike engines. You are the second member that has posted about a ZX-14 engine failure. I just purchased a 07 with 2500 easy miles ( I knew the owner) now I am Really glad it has the extened warranty and he has the paper work from all the oil changes from when he purchased it new 11 months ago. Let us know how you end up, Is it Busa time??? I read on this site about over heating etc. This Sucks.Makes you think twice about hammering the shit out of it.
