16t front topic results
Well, today was a rough day at the track. we lined up and I made my first pass of the day which was a wheelie fest to say the least. It was run off of a sportsman tree so i tried to just focus on my launch without worrying about cutting a light since the class that I run in and every other bike that runs out there goes off of a pro tree. The exception being the new guy on an old vmax that was a terrible rider and never got out of the 8's. I launched at 4,000 rpm and wheelied, got out of it, wheelied again, got out of it and wheelied the rest of the way through 1st gear only to shift to second and carry the tire about a foot off the ground until I was at about 8,000 rpm. I knew that it wasn't a good run,but it really felt pretty fast since i got almost halfway into 3rd before crossing the line. The results were as follows.
R/T--------- .441
60ft --------1.582
330ft-------4.404
330mph--84.432
1/8thET---6.604
MPH-------112.863
My first thoughts when I saw my timeslip were that i couldn't believe I finally got a 1.5 and it was on a terrible run, I couldn't believe that I almost matched my fastest time at that track, and my mph is up roughly 2mph for that time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After that run a car blew it's tranny, spun out of the groove, hit the wall, and slid upside down for about 50ft on the wall spewing transmission fluid all over the track and it took them a good hour to get it cleaned up enough for some slick down cars to make some passes. After 2 cars made passes, another car somehow managed to leave a stripe of oil to the 330ft mark before he noticed that something was wrong and pulled over. That took another 45 min or so to get cleaned up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With everything cleaned up and cars starting to run again, I made what felt like a really good pass only to get to the tipe slip station and see my name and number on a blank slip lol.
I went and lined back up against my friend jason on his k8 busa with a 40shot and alienhead, and here were the results of me launching at 2200 rpm.
JASON-----------------------------------ME
RT----.237------------------------------.225
60ft---1.850----------------------------1.624
330ft-4.640----------------------------4.256
mph-83.99-----------------------------88.258
1/8et-6.808----------------------------6.418
mph-113.501-------------------------113.438
I got my time slip and was extatic. I had completely smashed my previous best time for that track by .17 seconds! this 16t front sprocket is really getting the job done. Now if only I can get my 60ft times down we'll be getting somewhere. I found out that jason spun and then sprayed the entire run to try to catch me which he wasn't able to do lol.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As I returned to the pits to line up I looked out on the track and saw another cleanup crew on the track. This shit was freakin' ridiculous and something good actually came of it. As of the next race all cars that are capable of running 9.90 and faster must have a pan or a diaper (thank god).
I only ended up getting two more runs the rest of the day which were not very good but are as follows. the first one was one of the most fun races that i've had in a long time because I won, it was close, and jason had no reason not to beat me becaust he sprayed the shit out of his bike, and the second which was a beatdown because I treed him and he forgot to turn his toggle switch on so he honked his horn at me when he tried to spray lol
.Jason------------------------------------ME
RT---..181-------------------------------.152
60ft--1.757-------------------------------1.728
330--4.499-------------------------------4.379
mph-89.580-----------------------------88.474
1/8---6.565-------------------------------6.521
mph-121.326---------------------------115.474
Jason------------------------------------ME
RT---.560-------------------------------.177
60ft--1.761-------------------------------1.708
330--4.525-------------------------------4.368
mph-83.917-----------------------------87.644
1/8---6.670-------------------------------6.529
mph-113/787---------------------------114.630
On both of these runs I bogged my bike because the track had been sprayed and torched really well after all of the mishaps. Sorry that I wasn't able to get more runs in to give you guys a better idea of how the sprocket does, but so far I'm loving it. I just have to re-learn how to use my clutch hand now that I'm launching at a really low rpm and not having to slide the clutch near as much.

One more thing that I forgot to mention. On the 115.474 run I remembered to try flyboy's technique of tucking my head down and to the left befor i got to the traps. I would really like to thank him for telling us all about that becaus it resulted in almost 1mph in the 1/8th!
BTW, my mods are still as follows:
muzzy 3-hole links on the middle hole
Front forks lowered 1"
Helibars 3/4" risers
Strap kit
16t front sprocket
Flies removed without mapping
JT 16T front sprocket
190/50/17 shinko soft (not a U-soft)
I weighed myself this morning fully suited at 192 lbs. Mybike also had a little less than half a tank if that helps.

I laughed out loud when I envisioned your buddy revved right up ready for his 40 shot and all he gets when he hits the warp speed button is "Meeeeeep".

lol... when he told me what happened, I immediately pictured smokin on his shiny new zx10 without an airshifter riding a wheelie down the track honking the horn as he tries to shift it like his red bike :P.
The track elevation is roughly 1800ft, but the DA today was 3500 or so which is a little better than usual but still nothing to brag about. One of these days I'll make it to a track with good air lol

I wish that it would have been like a normal day there so that I could make a lot of runs. I know that she's got a 6.30 in her with a few more passes on the 16t front sprocket.
You were 100% correct about me liking the 16t front sprocket lol. I will say that being as broke as I am makes your really appreciate the mods the mods when you get them. I'm glad that I didn't have the money to just buy everything all at once because I've really had to learn to ride the piss out of my bike to run with the people who have all of the mods that I don't lol.
BTW, I should be getting a copy of the run where jason tried to spray me down and couldn't catch me. Maybe he'll bring it over tomorrow.
