Anyone here using a aluminum rear sprocket?

Im trying to get a 40t rear sprocket and i have found a local shop that has one in stock, but it is aluminum. And Im just wondering if it will be ok. I know that aluminum wont last as long as a steal unit. I just dont want to put in on and have it strip all the teeth off and end up damaging the bike and possibly myself.

The one I found is a sprocket specialist ultralite. I called them and they said that the ultralite option saves weight, but doesnt sacrifice any strength? Dont know about that one, but they said it will match the strength of the stock unit, I hope so.

Yes, it will be ok. I have run the Vortex and Renthal at the dragstrip, and the Renthal at Maxton as well.

I run a alum. Renthal 43 rear. Be good about cleaning and lube. I can get about 10,000 out of a set.

It will be fine, I run an aluminum on my turbo bike[428hp] no problems, but it's not as strong as the stock one.

I have run nothing but Vortex on my bike, keep it lubed properly, and you can get just as many miles as the stock one.
