If your bikes are financed and collision is part of the finance agreement, you must carry collision.

For example, if you simply financed the bikes on a regular Visa card like you would finance a new dining room suit, then of course collision is not required.

as far as a reasonable rate with a DUI, it's probably not going to happen.

Additional... in many states the bank has the right to insure the bike if they get wind you are not. That would include 'comprehensive'... Trust me... they don't look for a deal!!! They will then bill you for every expense/cost.
I am not sure if you tried State Farm... but they are the best (usually) for motorcycle insurance.. I am not sure if they may not choose to give you a chance or not??!! I wish you luck!!

Thanks for the advice and comments. I have Spoke w/ Honda finance manager and was informed that all I have to cover w/ what state requires. I was told by State Farm rep that all I have to do is cover what the finance company says, With that said I am only going to cover the Honda VFR under liability. I am going to sell the ZX14 to my girl so she can cover the bike under collision. I will not be able to ride the ZX14 for about two more years. I guess this is better than letting the bike go back for lack of coverage.
i am sure I will want to get on, but I will not.

sell the vfr.......ride the 14
like you are smart or the 1st ticket & the judge looks at your record............
not good..............arounfd here theyve ratcheted itt up to jail time

or sell the 14 until you are clear

no need in pining for it
most insurance companies look at household members
if your girlfriend doent live same house
its like the 14 is sold anyway

save some $$$$$$$$ & gain piece o mind

listen, if you cant afford to pay the additional insurance costs then there is NO WAY you will be able to pay for the lawers, court fees, drinking driver programs, counseling, dmv fees, etc etc etc. basically, youre fucked and you ought to consider liquidating your bikes.

i was just offering a possible solution

in fact some in that situ have sold their autos & ridden a mid size cruiser for a couple of years & saved thousands on taxes.....insurance .....gas etc

in a mild climate + proper apparel it could work
whereas now he's talkin 3 vehicles.................2 bikes& a car

if he thinkin about getting ahead
he may have to do a little paring

money was not the issue, I called many insurance offices and not one of them would cover for collision. I have no prob w/ auto insurance just the bikes. HONDA is
up for sale. I am clear of all bills concerning the DUI lawyers, fines, and total loss took care of the difference for the car.

DUI huh? Maybe you should have thought about all the consequences before you hit the bottle. You're just lucky to be where you are...live with the issues and consider yourself lucky to have any insurance at all. I agree with Scott...besides which, we don't want you on the road anyway -- you're s sure-fire recipe for disaster...they should have locked you up behind bars...and saved someone else's life...the one you kill next time you drink and drive.

Ya -- same to you asswipe. Meantime, I have a clean license and can drive and not worry about insurance or jail and /or fines for stupid shit like DUI's MOFO. The roads would be safer without assholes like you drinking and driving. It's jackoffs like you that kill other people because of your "mistakes".

Only a brainless idiot would post here about his DUI and then bitch about the insurance...that being you. Fucking cry baby -- suck it up and take your shit elsewhere.

Whatever...go have a few beers and play in traffic. Oh BTW, you don't have to PM me to tell me to go fuck myself, as you did. Take it up with me here -- I have no problem responding to you in a public forum. Send your PM's to someone who gives a fuck.

FBA what the hell got into your arse and lit a cigarette??? You know this guy or somethin? If not, give him the benefit of the doubt that this was a one time deal, made a mistake and is now paying for it etc... Because there is no way you can claim you would talk that way to him in person, face to face, regardless of whether or not you could take him.

"Let he who has never sinned cast the first stone". I'm not religious, but thats one quote you can live by.

Perspective: 15 years of working 2nd shift and getting off work at 2am (bar closing time in Washington) I've seen ALOT of drunk drivers on the way home. I've called the police on at least a dozen of them, physically stopped 5 of them who were so intoxicated I felt they were a danger to all, and beat the crap out of one of them and took his keys. "I lost my license after my last deewee" and "Are you threatening me? I'm a lawyer you know" Are not exactly smart things to say when its 3am on a very dark backroad and you're confronting a very big, pissed off dude.
