Replacing Oil Pan on 2007 FA model

Any pointers on how to do this? I was looking at it and it did not seem like I had to disconnect anything major to get the job done. A friend of mine took a ramp too fast that had too much of an approach angle and ripped off the drain plug off of my ride.

Not much to do .... Pull the filter and drain the oil ... Remove the wire to the sending unit .. remove all the pan bolts and lower pan ... Make sure to take note where the orings are located .. You will have to swap the pressure valve and windage tray ( inside pan ) to the new pan ..

Bummer man. It's pretty straight forward. Just make sure you red loctite the bolts on the baffle plate and teflon tape your sending unit and install a new gasket. Careful on reinstall to locate your pickup & oil pipe correctly. Just pay close attention when you disassemble. Look for any shiney debris in the bottom of the pan and drain your oil in a clean pan and check it as well. I would advise a new filter at this time as well. Hope this helps.

You will probably have to buy a new one... The nipple on mine was impossible to get out... Just order one and plan on changing it....

Shannon at Clem's Kawasaki ( OSR Racing ) has modified pans for $150 ( exchange ) and $250 ( new pan ). The pans are cut and allow you to lower the bike 1.25 inches and relocates the drain plug to the rear. I have been using one on my 14 which is lowered front and rear 1.25" without any problems. I am completely satisfied with my pan and since I dragrace occassionally I needed the additional clearance. Let me know if you need Clem's phone number and I will look it up for you.

Thanks!

I know that is doesnt...did the same thing on a deep pot hole...found out the hard way the nipple is not in the pan. You can buy one at an auto parts store and save some money. Kawi's is "ass rape" over priced. $9

$2 at NAPA
