Spare Rear wheel questions

In the next few months, i'm going to be trying to come up with a spare rear wheel. I've seen a couple of posts where people have run a GSXR1000 wheel (which there are an abundance of around here). I've also seen people running zx12r wheels, which look pretty heavy to me, but are also easy to find. I obviously don't want to add any unsprung weight since it's going to be for the dragstrip (or i could always run the spare wheel on the street and the 14 wheel on the track).

What is the deal with using wheels from other bikes? What does it take to adapt a gsxr1000 or zx12 wheel to the 14? Is the 12 wheel a direct bolton?

Thanks for the input

The 12 wheel is a direct bolt-in and lighter. There are more details/pics in my build thread.
