You asked you get .. 09 zx14 stock ETs and MPH
Ok guys this was the set up ... 86 Deg and 79% humdity ( FL Sucks ) 5 to 7 MPH head wind... 2009 zx14 , Mods, lowering links and a front end strap ..That's it , no trick oil , stock air filter , stock gears , 38 pounds in the rear tire, 89 Shell pump junk gas and the factory Kawi break in oil...Nothing else and i mean Nothing !! 165 miles showing on the speedo ..Rider weight 151 ( I weight myself right before leaving for the track )..
I wanted to test in real world conditions , not at some track up north with 45 Deg air so as to give you guys numbers you could count on ... Most of us never see or race in that kind of HP making air anyway...
I have to say right off the bat i love the faster flys in this 09 zx14 .... It's almost like having them out and at this point i see no need to remove them .. My first run netted me a 9.70s @ 142 with 60 footers in the mid 1.60s ... I was staging at 3000 and pretty much driving out like you would from a stop sign , getting on throttle very late so not to wheely and blow the run ...
My best run of 5 was ...
1.59 60 footer
4.105 330 time
6.207 @ 116.21
9.628 @ 143.29 .................... 27 mile back half, not bad for a stocker ...
With a little more seat time i can see some 9.50s Maybe with some Syn oil and a little more break in miles high 9.40s ...
Do think it's faster than my 06 with the same mods ? Well i can't say because i never ran my 06 with stock exhaust in the 1/4 mile ..But i did run in the 1/8 mile with the same mods or lack of mods and run 6.30s if i remember correctly ...But i can say it is a much more user friendly bike with the faster working flys ...
Pictures from the track coming shortly ..

Those are some really good times. My bike's best times with me on it were in good air the second time that i ever went to the track. 6.40 @ 117 with a 1.62 60ft. My dad's best time in REALLY REALLY good air in texas was a 6.05 @ 122 with a 1.53 60ft. He did say that all the stars aligned that night and he got a "perfect run" which will never happen again. I still haven't really had the chance to get to the track with good air since i lowered and strapped it, but i've been running consistent 6.60 @ 110-112 with DA of over 5,000 and track temps in the high 90's. Maybe the last race of the season which is coming up will come with good air and hardley any people so that i can get some back to back runs in.

Man that is a nice looking bike lowered like that lee'' My 06 stk all stk on tippy toes ran 982 141 was the best i could get out of it. When i lowered it i also added the s-meg and a 39 tooth rear, and no flys but i was using a converted zx10 p/c DJ didnt have one yet for the 14. My best time with this combo was 9.56 145mph. This is as close to stk as i did any testing,i just could not wait to start tinkering with it... Hee Hee.. Iove that green lee.....

Excellent report and awesome times!
This should put a damper on the talk about 08/09 14's being down on power.
BTW ......... "pretty much driving out like you would from a stop sign" got you a 1.59 60???
You're gonna hafta show me that trick sometime......
____________
You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Yeah, there's something about you old farts that have been racing bikes since the h1 was a big deal lol. It also helps that he's 5'5" tall and weighs like 140 lbs. The funniest thing to watch is when he takes his M109R out there and smacks the shit out of all of the 600's and any 1000, busa, etc that can't ride. They'll turn faster times than him, but by the time they get taken off he's already too far down the track for them to catch.

Smokin, man if I didn't love my bike.... I would buy a green 09 in a heartbeat! Sh%t look sweet as HELL!!!! 4 Real!!! OK not to jock too much, I invy the performance between the years but I guess this is the nature of the inviroment dealing with sport bikes. Newer models will probably be quicker and rider friendly in general. Nice info on the model and pics for our enjoyment....ride safe!!!! Be cool dude!!!! Maybe I can see that monster in person @ QSL....even if you and others were to ride and gave me 24 hr notice, I could join....just a thought(remember I'm 2-1.5 hrs away). Take care!

I know you Fla guys don't care about the cold conditions but even if not drag racing the extra power is fun. Dress warm and hold on as the extra hp is all over the rev band.

Smokin - Great to see the numbers but a few corrections rearding REAL numbers
First - FL is at sea level - even at 100 degrees at 100 h% humidity it is faster than running at 1500 ft. I know - a bit of exageration - but your tracks down there are lightening fast.
Second 151 lbs is kinda like our weight in high scholl - get real and go get something to eat already - then you can show some real numbers - and BTW - I can still get my 220lbs in the hills rolling to in the tens and trapping at 150....... try that trick.

(First )Come down here and try to run a good number when the DA is 3500 feet ....Check the NHRA record numbers , hardly ever will you see someone set a record in Gainesville or BMP ..Most of the records are set up in the north east ...
( Second ) Call Jenny Craig if you have a weight problem ....Telling me to eat more is like me telling you to stop eating ..
(Third) These numbers are more true than any magazine or the pros will give you .. Sure i'm 151 pounds but anyone with a slice of brain can do the math... A 200 pounder is not going to run what i run a 151 pounds .....My test showed what an Avg joe at 150 pounds would run not some light weight pro at a track up north with a DA of 100 feet below sea level ...
I was asked by a few members of bikeland to do this test to see if the 09 was any faster than my 06 .. My 06 was tested in the same air and same track so the test is a true and fair test ..... That was the point but you seem to want to make something else out of it ...
If you don't want to see this tests it's fine with me , i will not do any more testing ...I do this out of my own fucking pocket . I buy the bikes, the gas, mods and pay full price at the track ..Nobody pays me for this shit and trust me going to the track twice a week cost me pleanty ...
I'm done with you and this testing , get your damn info yourself .....

It doesn't matter if you're at sea level if there's shitty air. Barona raceway here in san diego is at 1800 FT, but the DA is normally 5,000 or higher. That can translate to nearly 4 tenths of a second slow and around 5 mph slow for the times that you are running "or at least that's what i've seen". Times change from track to track because of altitude, but the air plays a huge role in the how those tracks perform as well.

Smokin - I was Joken...... Be cool there my friend - you are as credible as they come when it comes to the numbers - You know that I have always admired your skills - and I am jealous of your ability to run through the winter - some day my friend - I may get one of the rides down there to the sunshine state - and I will be glad to come a track - and I will gaurentee you that you will not be impressed by my numbers - I loook forward to the progress and numbers as you get the set-ups matched - assuming of course that you will eventuily do similar mods = as for me - it will be cold and wet here this weekend - the tracks are closed = so all I have left is pokin some fun with you lucky ones that preside in the south.
