traction
today i went for a ride and my bike must be starting to loosen up a bit. i have an 6 inch swingarm on it and before i would start out from a dead stop and i was able to take off without any trouble. now soon as i hit about 70 or 80 my back tire breaks loose and i fishtail
for a second or two but today it did it and i got a little pissed so i grabbed second gear and it did it again in second gear this time i was probley doing about 90 or so. i have the muzzy four into one with the mega phone and the pclll with the flies in still and racetech springs
plus metzler m1 series tires. CRAZY HELP i would really like this thing to hook up so i could enjoy the power. thanks

Shock set up wrong, and lots of air pressure in the tire......., on the street.........
We deal with it on prepped tracks if they do not spray the top end well............

Either your getting more aggresive with your throttle or the tire is getting old as in too many heat cycles...
Plus, what everyone else said...
But you still didnt give us enough INFO.....How many miles, what tire pressure and how old is it???...Did you touch the rear shock settings???...Change the gearing???...Whats the temp over there now???

5250 miles on bike, temp was about 65 that day, 1000 miles on new tires metzler m1 series
tire pressure is at 42 psi while cold before being ridden, and i have not touched the rear shock settings. i know the dealership set it up that way, anyway it did not do it near as bad before. i am also not a real aggressive rider, so i don't go through alot of tires very fast they tend to last me a while. tires before these ones were stock they found a scew in my front tire so i had them replace both of them, also running a 200 instead of a 190 cause thats all they had. thanks guys.

Was it a cloudy day???
It has to be due to the cooler weather and cold streets!!!
Put 36lbs in it...

Good luck , i have never seen a zx14 at 6 over that would hook on the street and i don't care what tire you have ...6 over is about 63 1/2 inches long and that is not going to work on the street .. My Shinko at 17 psi will blow the tire off at speeds over 130 MPH on some streets .... If you can get on some good concret you may have a chance of hooking ..

i have the same setup but im 8 over. I set my susp alittle soft with coil. Its hard to get it dialed in because that coil is so stiff. With 35psi in the tire i can launch it. Ive beat alot of people on the street doing this because i take off at 2500 rpm. Anything higher will break the tire lose. It seems to work. Ive tried other things like heating the tire up alot. That does nothing but make it spin worse. With the u soft it works best when it slightly heated like from a high speed run or something. To hot and get no traction. At the track its a total different situation. Also like smokin said concrete will also work.

I run 29psi rear, and 31 front... one of our pilots is a semi pro road racer, and told me to try that out. I hook a lot better, and the handling is better as well.

42 PSI? You have waaaaay to much air in the tire. That's your biggest problem. I would definitely go 30 psi for roll ons and as low as 20psi for dead stop launches but 42psi, that's usually the max on some tires but you won't get great traction from that high of a psi.

sit on the passenger seat. You'll get traction that way.

My bike is an '07 with stock Bridgestone Battleaxes and they suck! After putting a dual shorty exhaust on it, I can't get it to wheelie much with all the wheelspin I get now. I had a ZX10R with Dunlop Qualifier tires on it and those tires got sticky really fast no matter how many times I burned 'em off at the track and I ran those with the recommended air pressure. Just my two cents!
