07 ZX-14 Sprocket Change
I see alot in the forum about people changing the front sprocket? I know it gears up or gears up the bike but what is the common upgrade for the ZX-14? Do you need a speedo healer if you change the front sprocket? Thanks

Sprinters often go down to a 16 tooth and top speed junkies like me have been known to go up to 18 tooth.
You will need a Speedo Healer if you are concerned about speedo accuracy or if you want to defeat the top speed limiter (by setting it to under-read).

You'll notice a big difference with the 16t...much stronger acceleration.

I think I will be ordering a 16 tooth as well....... now I hope it stops raining long enough for me to try out the bike with the change.......

if you heavy 250lbs+ 16T is good choice, i tried them all i'm about 170lbs and 16t front was useless in 1st, or should i say 1st gear was useless. I'm now extended and went 3 up on the back with stock front wich is essentially the same, the longer wheelbase is helping some but i think the gear is still too short and bike wants to lift alot, so i'm going back to stock gearing.

Make sure you get the factory 16 tooth with the rubberized coating. Otherwise it sounds like a semi truck.

Yea Im 325lbs so I will order a factory 16t. What will that do to my speedo reading? Thanks for all the help

The best thing you can do is pull those flies, especially with your size!!!!! You won't regret it.

Will pulling those flies void my warranty, my bikes about 4 months old and I bought the 3 extra years of warranty from Kawi.

Ok, I'm sold on getting a 16t for the front.
should I go OEM for the vibration free rubber coated thingy, or go with a Schnitz or Vortex sprocket?
Also, what is the part number for the rubberized 16t front? It's not off the 14 is it?
