Wiring from Battery to Radar Dector... Help Please..
I recently picked up a new 2008 ZX-14. I bought a Techmount stem mount for the detector bike. On other bikes, I have run a cable/wire from the battery to the detector and was planning on doing the same for the ZX-14.
I have not had the tank or body panels off yet. I see where the battery is at via the manual but have not actually dug in there yet.
Any thoughts or ideas on getting power to the detector from the battery? on removing the tank and whatnot?

I do not think you have to remove the tank.
Take the batwing off, the left upper top panel, the left upper fairing and of course the ribbed section and battery cover.
You could get away with just the mid fairing if you wanna snake the wire up./ around.

I took mine off the marker lamp wiring in the headlight assembly. It is switched power, when you turn the ign off, it turns off. Easy access right under the dash.
It probably doesn't have the amperage for a lighter, but worked well for the radar detector

I ran dual large gauge wires to the front of the bike from the battery for all positive and negative needs. As you all know the ground locations are 'around' on this bike, but trying to use the frame for ground is often unreliable.
Perhaps you'd consider putting in a 'relay' for your radar detector. I found a nice relay 'trigger' for things to be the head lights, since they do not come on until the engine is started. Then you fuse off of the 'output' of the relay. Very nice and no worry about leaving the gadget 'on' by mistake. Relays are easy to wire up since they have 3 o4 4 wires: hot, negative or body grounded, trigger and output to the gadget.

just pull the right george foreman grill off, then there are a few screws to get the battery cover off. 2 nuts at the bottom of the battery entrance hold it in. smokin can have the battery out in less than 2 min. for me less than 10 min
