high flow air filter vs stock filter

i've heard from more than one person that you should not use a high flow filter because of the ram air feature. the small gain (1hp) from using the high flow filter is not worth the increased dirt/bugs getting through. are there any experts here that can make a recomendation?
also Muzzy does not make a map for anything other then stock air filter. i though that might be a good indicator to stick with stock.

There has been quite a bit of information talked about on the Forum... To save you a bit of trouble looking it up... I believe that there is only a minor change with air filter change. Look back and read a lot of the information that has already been talked about. Check out secondary "flies" removal also. Depending on the year bike you have, that is the best bang for your 'buck'. If you have already done so... just ignore me. If not, look it up on here. There is a TON of information.
The stock air filter breathes extremely well and it is not like the 80's where it is a 'must have'. I hope that helps. Welcome to the Forum...

Regardless of gains, I like the BMC street filter. I would much rather clean & reuse the BMC instead of purchase a stocker at the local dealership.

If you are going to search, use the one in the top left. The search bar on the right is worthless

the one on the left has been just as worthless for me. it pulls up everything regardless of my request.

I agree 100%. I'm a firm believer in taking 30 seconds to answer a question lol.

BS... works fine... type your search in the white "search" box and search away.
