Just saying hi

My new to me 2007 ZX-14 SE will be here Monday, Found one on the east cost with less then 400 miles on it in mint condition. I'm new to sport bikes but not new to bikes, been riding for about 25 years. I ride a 2005 Harley Road Glide now, the only thing the two bikes have in common is they both have two wheels. :-)

Yep, heck of a change.

Not to start the whole "You don't know what you're gettin' into!" cliche, but be easy on that throttle.

Might not seem like much at first, but watch your rpm's. If you're not payin' attention and tucked, at 1/2 to full throttle around 6000 in first gear, that bad boy will flip over and attack you like a wild tiger(or a caged one) at 60mph LOL!!!!

This thing is like Jeckyll and Hyde!! Be nice to it and it will be nice to you. Piss it of and. . . . . . well. . . . maybe that's more like David Banner and The Incredible Hulk.

Anyway, just remember that around 6000rpm this thing really starts opening up!!!

Still a very smooth and fun bike.

The power is addictive.

And yes fellas, Mine is still STOCK.

Get over it LOL!!!!

Well, I do have to say... you should like it. However, I live in the Milwaukee area and numerous people I know rode the 14.... (of course they live and die Harley...) and they thought that it was "pretty fast, but way too uncomfortable". SO... that being said, if you are willing to ride it and use its attributes... you will be knocked out... if you ride it just to the corner bar and back... you will be riding the other bike a lot. Regardless Be Safe, Have fun and enjoy it!!

Thanks for the welcome guy's. I test road a 2008 ZX-14 before I bought one. All I can say is what a bike and your right, hang-on baby I was getting on a local highway and by the time I exited the on ramp for the highway I was doing 120 in 3rd gear. I still love my HD each bike has there intended purpose, the HD for touring (it does a great job at that) and the 14 is a road missile. I'm 6'4" 110 LBS so I need the bigger bikes just to be somewhat comfortable. I looked at a Hayabusa as well but I'm to tall for it, I couldn't see the instrumentation except through the wind screen unless I laid on the tank all the time.

Anyway thanks again for the wellcome. I'm sure I'll see some of you on the roads.
