Stock grips - how to remove?

Having a devil of a job getting the stock grips off intact. Any recommendations? Just cut 'em off?

I have seen compressed air do the trick.

Take a real skinny flat tip screwdriver, smaller than a #2 pencil. Make sure it's as long as the grips.

Slide the screwdriver all the way from the end of the bar to the other end of the grip.
Rotate the screwdriver and it will spin around between the grip and the bar.
Squirt a little wd-40 or hairspray inside, keep working.
then it will get to a point where it will slide off.
Clean the grip well afterwords.

Take them off with a air compressor. Blow the air in the side and they blow up like a ballon and just slide right off. I could change them in less then a minute without damaging them at all.

Just cut them and save yourself some trouble. You're replacing them with better ones anyhow.

Thanks for the replies. I finished the job in 5 minutes with a Stanley knife.

Got the ProGrips gel, in an attempt to dampen the vibration through the throttle hand (with the stock grip my hand would be numb after a few miles). Seems to be an improvement so far.
