Second time to the track

Well this time was alittle better than the last. My first pass was a 6.3 a 1.59 60ft. I started spinning once again on the following passes. I did tighten the coil like some of u suggested. I though i had 15psi in the tire but found it at 30psi. I took the tire pressure to 12psi. I had another racer given me some tips. I was putting my feet behind me on my take offs. The other racer told me to postion my feet beside me. I tried that and the bike pulled a wheelie. The tire was so sticky that i couldnt know longer dump the clutch like i had been doing. It makes a difference when the tire grips. I was trying to leave at 5000 rpm. Is this to much. The bike was raising up everytime. I managed to get a 6.2 with a 1.52 60ft dragging the clutch some. My question is other than more and more seat time. For me to get lower 60ft times do i need to lower the rpm. So the bikes not trying to pop wheelies. I need any advice. With only being able to make a few passes everytime i go. I need to adleast have an idea of what im going to try each time. Seems things change and i have to relearn the bike.

What is your bike setup and weight? That would probably help the fast guys give you some advice...

shane im 243 to 240. Extend 5 over, can go to 9 over. -1 front +2 in rear, heavy duty coil on rear shock, lowered in 2hole on muzzy links and 1.25 with strap in the front. Smeg with pc3 no secondary plates, have the throttle mod and the pingel electric shifter. Also have a u soft. Ive read some guys leave at a low rpm and let the tq pull the bike. I tried leaving low a few times and the bike bogged. With that throttle mod the throttle is opened alot sooner.

Shane your on the right track with your set-up. You just need to run as much psi as you can with-out spinning. I would start around 20-25 depending on track prep. If your having traction problems let up a little on your front strap and that should help.
Launching is a art...it takes alot of practice to get the most out of it. A good launch you can play by ear, if you hear the rpm's drop alot it's going to be a crappy pass. If you keep the R's up all the way thru and hit your shit points the bike should never sound like it changed gears. Alot of dragraces know what i'm talking about but it's kind of hard to explain.
You need to get your gut up on the tank and your feet back. Only keep your feet on the side if the bike wants to creep on the line when the clutch is in. The whole trick is to snap the clutch out the first inch and slide the rest of the way...all the while pinning the throttle wide open. It's a balancing act...sit on the bike and practice it all the time. I like keeping my pointer finger wrapped around the bar and using the other 3 for the clutch. I like keeping the clutch release right off my finger. Some guys like it way out...i like it off the bar.

LOL Bawls... I know exactly what you mean. I'm kind of saving to get a Brocks Full/Smeg w/PC. And Yes..."DAAYUM Smokin" is right! I love showing his vids to my buddies. They always say DAYUM! Hey Serius, I've had the same problem. Some told me to take off at 2-3 grand and roll it on hard. I'm obviously too chicken shit to roll it on too fast, cause it always lugs. I launched it around 6 grand and rolled it on fast for my best results, but it's going to take more experience to get out of the clutch faster and start getting some times that won't embarass me and the fast as shit riders on this site. They all tell me the same thing. Practice, practice, practice.
