Installed HID's and halo's yesterday.
I ordered my halo's and hid's from lite-eyes.com a little over two weeks ago and they finally came in yesterday. I decided to take the day off work to get busy installing them.
The first thing I had to do was remove all of the front plastics and then figure out how to remove the upper front fairing that holds the headlights. It took me a little over an hour to get everything tore apart.
Next I had to remove the headlights from the fairing.
After that I had to drill a couple of holes for the wiring then I cooked my headlights. I put each one in the oven for ten minutes at 250 degrees. Once I cooked them I used a screwdriver to pry them apart, I was actually suprised at how easy it was. My fingers are still a little sore from the hot plastic though. Next step was epoxying the halo's in place, letting them dry then putting the lights back together. To do this I put them together as much as I could then I placed them back in the oven for five minutes to soften the glue back up. Next step was epoxying the hole I made for the wires to go through. I did one headlight at a time, the entire process took about an hour. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of this process. Here is a picture of the lights with the halo's in.
This one shows the wiring.
While I had the lights out of the bike I went ahead and installed the four hid bulbs and the led corner lights. It was much easier to do it while it was apart then when everything was back together. After that I reinstalled the nose and then wired everything up for the hid's. The ballasts were very small so they were easy to mount, the black things connected to the ballasts were a pain finding room for though, that and all the extra wiring on the relays. I did manage to find room for everything though.
After about six or seven hours I was finally ready to turn everything on. The first thing I noticed was that the led marker lights wouldn't come on. Next was the big suprise though. One of the halo's didn't work. Can you imagine how happy I was after doing all of that work when only three of the four worked!!!! 
I am hoping that lite-eyes will get me a replacement out in the very near future though. I still get to work three or four hours to replace the bad one though, plus I have to figure out how to remove the bad light with all of the epoxy holding it.
Next I turned on the hids. To my suprise only one came on.
I turned the bike off and back on, this time they both came on. Most of the time they both work, about once every five times I have to restart the bike though.

Here it is with the high beams on. Occasionally only one of those come on as well but not as often as the low beams.

Nice work, I'm looking into doing the same thing,
I use the high beams alot and figured the HIDs would give me better light with just the low beams.
Did U test the Halo's before the install?

No, I didn't test them. I screwed up and assumed they would all work. Hindsite is 20/20 though. You had better believe I will be testing the replacement though.

I got them from www.lite-eyes.com. Other than the delay in the shipment I am very happy with the hid's other than the occasional beam not coming on. I believe that is a problem with all hid's on these bikes though.
As for the halo I just got off of the phone with lite-eyes and they said they will get me a new one sent out today. If they do that then I will be satisfied with their customer service after the sale. I would have much rather never had a problem but now that I have had a problem it's all about how they handle it.

That looks really nice! I actually just ordered HIDs/Halos today. But i ordered the HIDs from starrotors.com. Digital slim ballast = 2 bulbs for 119, free shipping. I bought my Halos from Lite-eyes as well, as their kit seemed the highest quality. I WILL test them before install, but I wont think badly on the company for your one bad light. They are electronics. There are bound to be some duds. Are they wired to turn them on/off independently? Or is the first halo pic just bike off/ignition on?

As for the HIDs, from what i hear, even if they say 55W units, often they will use more than that on initial lighting. So occasionally you are bound to have one not light. No biggie. the light difference is amazing. You can outshine alot of new cars haha

I'm not trying to turn anyone off of lite-eyes. Once they take care of my problem I will be very happy with my lights. The delay was due to a miscomunication (typing error) on their part that affected a lot of people's orders. They are trying to take care of it now though. I believe most of the people have received their orders by now. They were having a pretty good sale, 30% off their advertised price in honor of motogp. The price I received was incredible. I paid $119 for each pair of hid's, $84 for the two pairs of halo's, $17.50 for each relay, and free shipping on all three orders I placed.
I have the halos all wired to one switch that is wired straight to the battery. Also, I forgot to mention I went with the 35 watt hids, 8,000k.
Oh one other thing, do your research before installing. I didn't receive any directions for anything. If you have any questions about the install just drop me a pm.
Also, did you order a relay for your hid's? The relay is supposed to help with the initial firing so you don't get one light on, one light off as often.

No i didnt order a relay :S Do i need one for each set of lights or one for them all? I wonder if i can pick something up locally. Was it a pain to rig the Halos to their own switch? Where did you mount that switch?
As for the install, im letting my mechanic do it lol. This weekend will be my 600 mile service and im having the bike modded up (fender elim / full pipe / etc) and will have this done at the same time.

With the relays from lite-eyes you need one relay for each pair of lights. I used one for my low beams and one for my hi beams. The halos come with two switches, one for each pair. I wired them together so I only have to use one switch. I have mine hidden right now but I plan on mounting it beside my instrument cluster on the ram air cover later.
I hope your mechanics are cheap. I would hate to pay $50 an hour for six hours to have them installed.
On a side note I got my ultra-bright led corner lights working. When I called lite-eyes earlier I was told that they have to go in a certain direction. I assumed that when they were in they were in. This is another place that having some instructions would have helped. Apparently I was lucky enough to install both of them backwards, if it weren't for bad luck I would have none. Anyway, I removed the ram air covers, removed the lights, switched them around and they work perfect. They match up with the hid's much better than the factory lights, definitely worth the $8 bucks. I'll get a picture of them later this evening.

Turns out i ordered my halos from BikeLitez.com. They seem to be the same CCFL ultra bright ones as yours, and they had a kit already sized for the 14. Heres hoping. If they suck ill be returning them and measuring to buy the universal ones you got. Visibility during the day is key to a good halo!
EDIT: Damnit! They are the LED ones that dont look as evenly bright as yours. Im gonna cancel my order at the other joint.
With all the wiring bundled to the side like that, are there any issues with the wiring and heat?

I rode the bike to work and back today and didn't have any problems. I'm hoping that it stays that way. I'll be taking everything apart again on Friday so I'll check everything out then to make sure I'm not getting any melting on the wires or the tape I wrapped some of them with.

I spoke with Paul at Lite eyes and he mentioned that they were sending you a new unit today. Lucky for me, your pics show that you have the perfect size halos (71mm) and Paul remembered that. Took all the guesswork outa my order  Since it was actually cheaper than the other units, i went ahead and picked up the superwhite LED corners while i was at it.
When you get it all done and buttoned up please post some more pics of the lows on w/ halos etc.

I will be happy to post some more pictures once it is complete. The people at lite-eyes seem to be very nice people, they are very helpful. It's a shame they had this problem with their orders getting backed up which got them quite a bit of negative attention. I believe they are doing their best to make things right though.
I called them with questions a couple of times yesterday and then again today. They seemed very happy to help me with every question or problem I have had.

You have to epoxy the halo's into place. That is actually my biggest concern about replacing the defective light. I'm not sure how I am going to remove the defective light in order to replace it.
When you look inside your headlight from the front of your bike (while they are still mounted) you should be able to see a silver ring around each light. That is what you will be epoxying them to.

According to USPS tracking the replacement halo should be here today. In order to have it finished up in time for bike night this evening I went ahead and took everything apart in order to get ready for it. I've already cooked the light again and taken everything apart. Nothing like leftovers for lunch.
Here it is preparing to be cooked.
Oven pre-heated.
Basting.
Halo and epoxy removed.
Hopefully USPS gets here soon.

I always liked the look of the halos. Not beat for all that baking ans such though. It would be nice if a company offered the headlight assembly pre-halo'd and tested, lol. As for the HID's this would be a definite investment for me. While doing 100+ through dark North Carolina's route 64 I was actually impressed with the stock set up. However the HIDs would turn night into day. I have a criteria I would like to follow:
1) CUSTOM FITTING THE CABLES
2) GETTING BOTH BALLAST TO ENERGIZE ALL THE TIME
3) SMALL HIDEABLE BALLASTS
Sometimey lighting and huge gobs of cable would annoy me even if I couldn't see it. Just knowing it's there. (Sorry, electrician by trade.)
I'm also looking into strobes for my signal housings. They come in handy if my club and I are pulled over handling a problem on someone's bike. If anyone knows of a good set up please post it.

The new halo arrived a couple of hours ago, decided to test it before I did anything.
Worked perfect. Next step was to install it.
After that I tested it again, it still worked. Now it is time to put the bike back together. Everything went together smooth. I did have to zip tie a bunch of the wires back into place but that was it.
This is what I ended up with.
Just for the heck of it, here are a few more pics of my bike. I also installed the mirror plates while I was doing everything else.
I can't wait to see it tonight. Hopefully the rain holds off so I can head to bike night at Quaker Steak.
