Hello all
After much hassle, I finally am able to log in to this site. Had some firewall issues. I've been reading for weeks. Very interesting about the "flies". I recently traded in my XX Blackbird for a gorgeous 08 Atomic Silver ZX-14 Ninja. It was driving me nuts waiting through the break in period. Turned over 1000 on Thursday night and was screaming. I've got a ton of questions that I will be asking over time, hopefully it won't be too much. Hope to be posting some pics soon.

Thanks. I was shocked when I rode out of the dealership. The bike weighs around 30lbs or so less than the XX, but it felt like it weighed 100lbs less. Smooth as silk. Even more comfortable. At 1K I redlined it, and it was like fu@#$%^&. That's a good thing. I have to say though, that the 'Bird would have smoked it in a 60-80 roll on. Top gear roll on's don't seem to be the ZX's forte. Time to try and post some pics.

One of my best friends has been riding a Bird for the last 5 years or so… We have always traded bikes. Back when I had my 12R we both agreed it was way faster but for comfort and rideability the Bird Kicked but. On long rides we would take turns getting punished on the 12R, and then switch over to the Blackbird to relax and rest up.
However since I purchased the 14 last year, I need to pry him off it every time we go riding… Two week’s ago he decided to pick up a new bike (or as I tell him “and our buddies” his wife finally gave in to his sniveling and told him he could have one). The big choice was Busa or 14 thankfully another friend who picked up a 08 Busa at the beginning of the season let him try his as well… Long story short he is now riding a new 08 14 Special Edition (and I get to spend more time on my bike… or at least until it got smashed up this week).

So is it just me, or did the 'Bird pull at lower rpm's much better? I was afraid something maybe wrong until I opened up the Zed at the 1K odo and I said OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHhhhh there it is! When I was going to buy again back in 03, I was deciding between the XX, ZX-11, and 'Busa. I decided on the 14 over the 'busa this time. I think the comfort thing is a little more important than maybe handling a tad better. I do like that 08 Black/Orange, but not enough to sway me from the 14. Hope you weren't seriously hurt when you got "smashed" this week.

A friend's wife recently told him he could finally get a bike if he wanted to. She said the gas prices were so high, it just made sense. He wants to pick up a little Ninja 250, but he said to his wife- Oh if gas prices are high its fine if I die. I told him he needed to shut up and get a bike quick.
