Shitty day… No week!

The weather here has been great for the last week and I have been stuck in side at work or at home… no time to ride the bike :-( .

Well that all changed on Saturday my wife grabbed the Kids and headed out of town to drop of 2 of them for a week at Summer camp, which gave me a great day to take the bike for a nice long ride. Unfortunately I did not make it off the street before my bike was hit by a garbage truck that was backing up… Shit. One side of the bike was completely rashed after it hit the ground and the front fairing was cracked (P.S.. the bike had just been moved out on to the road (1min max).

Unfortunately because of the crack in the front fairing the left mirror was flopping all over the place and a long drive was out of the question… Scratch one Saturday.

This morning I decided to take the morning off work to bring it in for an estimate and start the process of fixing my baby. It is a 15 min drive to the dealership from my house however aboute 1 min into the drive (at the first stop sign) I stopped and a young woman driving a Honda did not running into the back of my bike at about 10-15 miles an hour.

After picking myself up (and then picking up my very sad looking motorcycle from the intersection)… I (and my aching back) decided that the cards are stacked against me and after almost 20 years of accident free driving this is going to be a bad week… I wonder if I can work from home, that way the worst that can happen is I crash my computer.

OUCH! Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed. Hope you heal fast and you get an insurance settlement that more than offsets your pain, suffering and the bike gets replaced with a shiny new one.

+1 Sorry to hear about your Baby, good to hear that you didn't suffer any major injury. Hugs

It looks like $4300 will fix it back to new… now I have just to wait for the insurance adjuster to see it before I can strip off all the broken bits and ride it naked. I wonder if you actually need rearview mirrors on a 14… could I tell the cops I will just ride faster so that no one can come up behind me?
