License plate relocation
I recently relocated my license plate and eliminated my rear fender and plate mount.
My license plate is currently mounted inside the undertail which is illuminated with an led.
My question is, will this create any issues with the law enforcement? The plate is visible from the rear and meets the illumination requirements.
Any input would be welcome.

I think they might have a hard time reading the custom #s you have on the plate :P
Seriously....I'm in Az and have seen many mounted like that and nobody has told me any horror stories about any Az LEOs ticketing for such a placement
These are the Arizona state statutes

2. For a vehicle for which two license plates are issued, the vehicle owner shall display either of the following:
(a) One plate on the rear.
(b) One plate on the front and one plate on the rear.
B. A person shall display all license plates as required by subsection A until their lawful use expires or is canceled or revoked. A person shall maintain each license plate so it is clearly legible. A person shall securely fasten each license plate to the vehicle as follows:
1. To prevent the plate from swinging.
2. At a height of at least twelve inches from the ground to the bottom of the plate.
3. In a position to be clearly visible.

It is the grab handle which is included with the centerstand kit. It gives you a place to hold while placing the bike onto the stand.

i like the location of the plate. I just think out here you would probably get bothered for it. It looks very clean though. Also I believe out here you need a light shining on the plate. Hey but its all good. Just take it easy when you see your local law enforcement.

I'm in Phoenix but travel to Tucson every now and then. Usually around the Broadway/ Pantano area. The only other 14 owner Ive talked to from Tucson is currently surving in Iraq.
What color bike do you have? I've not seen another silver in the area yet?

you have to remember that when you sit on the bike the rear tire moves through the suspension cycle and the plate then colud be covered... they would bust chops here in n.y. for that mount

They would write you up in Washington State for that, too, but only if the cop was being a dick. I love that grab handle, though! Where did you buy the center stand at? I bet they sell the handle seperately, and I also bet it could be installed on the r/h side, too. That way I could attach my bags to it instead of having to go all the way the the square rails - which means I have to use clear boxing tape on the fairings to keep from rubbing through the paint.
Nice chicken stripes, BTW. Those come in a KFC bucket? Cuzz they sure are big'uns! lol

I live near Tanque Verde / Sabino Canyon, only a few miles from Bdwy / Pantano.
I have the Black sparkly blue paint, a friend is supposedly going to buy an 08 silver over at Performance soon.

Well so far no tickets. I'll keep you posted.
The center stand can be purchased of EBAY or other online sites. I recommend checking out www.cyclepartsnation.com. Their parts are typically 30% below retail and you should be able to order just the handle, mounts and hardware. I was considering getting the second handle as well.

here's mine, buddy of mine made it up. I'm really digging that handle though, just had to put the bike up on the rear stand again and am cant help but think how much easier it would be to do if there was a handle! Heck, I bet even the passender could probably use it... I'm gonna contact them about selling just the handle.

I got pulled over and a warning to move my plate for having it mounted in EXACTLY the same spot. The highway cop said the plate must not be mounted forward of the rear wheel.

Washington cop said it must be viewed from 50ft and was skeptical of the undermount as this. He said it depends on the cop, donut or no donut day. Must be lit at night
