How low???

Could I lower my 14 one inch front and back and not have clearance issues on the street?

And would this help the handling?

I have the front of mine lowered a half an inch, the rear is lowered an inch. I have Soupys lowering links so it is real easy to lower the bike. I live in Newfoundland Canada and in some spots the roads are a little rough I ride a fair bit of two up and never ran into a bottoming out issue. Hope this helps you out a little.

It depends on how loaded the bike is, how rough the street is and if there are any raised covers on it. Just be careful of the sump plug, it's the lowest thing under the bike.

Knocked mine hard enough to crack the pan behind it, so i just did the mod and gained some clearance. Looked for the page but didn't see it but this one is very similar

Mine is 1in front and rear, just watch for speed bumps and such and cross at an angle. I lost the shroud in front of the drain plug on one right after I lowered it. Was lucky, no other damage and made me aware so no further problems.

Thanks

I'm going to go the one inch and try to watch what I run over.

So MasterBlaster how did it affect the handling?

Well not being a pro, and with 69 years under the belt it handles great for me. Did a week in the mountains last year and chicken strips were down to 1/8 in, good enough for me, and was an absolute blast. It was so good was doing 500 mile days.

Yes, luckily I was loading it on the trailer. I had it welded up and added the plug to the left side of the pan. Works fine, no issues since.....then again, I rarely ride on the streets anymore.
