Time for some pipes
First of all i would like to say what a great forum you all have here, have been reading here alot! and you all seem like a great goup! So anyone in NW ohio with a 14 or sport bike wants to do some ridding look me up. Ok now time for business, I want to put some pipes on my bike....07 zx14 stock, I really like the two brothers pipes was wondering what kind of feed back people are getting out of them? Second what is the big diffrents between Aluminum, Carbon Fiber, and titanium? I know carbon fiber is light and gets rid of heat faster, and is cooler to touch, but is there any other diffrents? Just looking at slip on's for now. Another question can you run slip on's without a power commander? The $$$ dosnt bother me, but the I dont need the extra poney's yet. any help would be great!

ONe of the guys I ride with has the 2 brothers He seems to like them. I dont really like the looks of there Carbon though it looks fake (opinion) I you are going carbon, I would go with the Muzzy's... They have "real" carbon fiber

Go with titanuim, its more durable than carbon fiber, almost as light and cheaper. Carbon fiber has to be repacked more often or exhaust heat will destroy it. Plus its more prone to damage from dyno tuning...and just breaks down quicker in general.

Not sure where you live, but down here in Florida, the Two Bros CF bleach out quick and it really makes the huge basketweave look bad.

carbon fiber composite breaks down from the UV rays of the sun. Left unprotected, after few years there will be nothing but the fiber weave sitting by itself (the resin actually is what breaks down, not the weave itself). Manufacturers add a protective outer coat of gel resin that has UV protection built into it. Apparently Jus Cruisin is stating that Two Brothers did not add enough UV protection to there cans. Anyone else back that up or is it a one-off?
The by far best reason to use CF is if you plan on carrying passengers. If there legs hit the exhaust it will not leave a nasty permanent scar like alum. or Ti. Of course, most guys buy it because of two other reasons: It looks "better", and everyone knows it "costs more".
If you have a Titanium exhaust it means you are serious about racing, aluminum cans mean you are a practical (IE cheap) bastard like me who just wants the extra sound and power while saving money for the other things in life. Like convincing the lady who just burned her leg on your aluminum cans that she should still put out for you.
Weight difference is a wash to be honest. You guys who use that excuse should take a long look in the mirror and admit you are a metrosexual vain poser trying to impress all the other guys at the local hangout - or you're a "custom bike builder": your choice. heh heh Try to argue it biaatches!

This exhaust will make your bike go pretty fast--
Police won't chase you,
You'll get laid more often,
And the sound.... priceless.

sticks N stones why are you ditching the 2 brothers for muzzy? How loud is your exhaust? Can you still hear your self think after about a 100 mile ride, or are your ears ringing? When you get the pipes changed let me know how the sound compairs. I have heard from a few Kawi guys in my area....NW Ohio...that Muzzy is the way to go on the 14. Love the look of the dual 2 brothers though! Thanks for the help on Which can to choose, learned a few good pointer's about each type or exhaust can.

I wish I could keep the Two Brothers, since I love the deep rumble (which no single exhaust can match) and I also like the dual exhaust look. BUT I am chasing the horsepower monster and nothing so far beats the total output of the Muzzy M10/M14 exhaust right now. Equivelant peak power of a Brocks, with better power in the critical midrange.
My Two Brothers were WAY too loud when I bought them, ears where ringing after a short ride! So I bought the silencers and installed them. Simple $70 mod that doesnt hurt the power (according to Two Brothers website). Amazing that a simple little billet alum piece could make that big of a difference in sound! Now I dont need earplugs at all, I would say its just on this side of being too loud now, which is perfect.
And I just love it when I'm decelling and that deep rumble emits from them, deep enough to make Harley owners turn there heads every time to see whats coming. They try to look away quick when they see its a sportbike but I always notice and smile.
I would say the sound at cruise is equivelant to a turbo 5.0 Mustang with a Borla exhaust, deep with an odd burble that just sounds badass. The Muzzy I heard on a 14 sounded higher pitched and raspy, more atypical of a sport bike exhaust. I'll miss my rumble...

Thanks for the input stick n stones, that was exactly the kind of feed back I was looking for....from someone that has the pipes and to get an honest opinion out of them. Thanks. Sold on the two brothers then, the low rumble is what I am after. Im not chasing the horsepower beast (yet) hahaha.

Make no mistake wrenchhead, the extra 10-15 hp you will get is very noticeable! For me it meant the difference between power wheelies in second gear EVERY TIME I rap it out versus only when I seesawed the throttle at 8K. If I knew how to post videos I would let you hear it, but all I know how to do is use FaceBook for pictures. Don't have the time to figure out how and where to upload videos online. I know you are supposed to reformat or resize the videos and I'm illiterate there, since all my videos are in HD format.
