Harmonic noise
Do any of you guys (or girls) get a whinning noise around 60mph. I have a small range between say 57 and 60 or so that I get a whinning noise from the drive train. Its more pronounced on decell but you also get it when riding constant speed also. I went one tooth down on the front so the speed may not be the same on a stocker. I though for a little that it might be the front sprocket but its more gear wine/valve train whine. Its done it since day one but seems louder with time. By the way its an 08' with 1800 miles.

Can't say I have on mine.
I normally ride with ear plugs on the highway, so it mutes most of the noises from the bike.
The other day I left home with out my plugs in and I thought my bike was ready to come apart!
All the noises I never hear with my plugs in were quite loud!
If your chain is on the tight side, you get kind of a thrumming noise at some speeds, you might want to check that. Sligtly loose is always better than being on the tight side of the spec.

My 06 has whined from day 1 in 5th gear. Gas on or gas off it whines.. got just over 10,000 miles on it now and its still the same. Must just be the gear mesh in that particular gear that make noise for whatever reason.

Its your smaller front sprocket....every one I've changed does that. The aftermarket fronts don't come with any kind of rubber damping/noise cancelling like a stock front does, so they whine. You'll get used to it...just like your wife
