WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
TRADE 07 14 FOR 08 ZX10? Frame recall got me pissed. always wanted another liter bike. My wife does ride with me sometimes. Problem is I still owe about 6k on my 14 and have to trade up for about 2800 bucks. I am going to lose my pipe, powercommander, sprockets, ect. Just do not know if I would be happy. I cant go all summer not having my bike.

the frame will not be a problem unless someone overtorqued it (highly unlikely)
the 10 is a screamer but not near as much torque or comfort. its your call but i would not fit well on a 10 even tho its a sharp bike.

Screw it. Trade it in for a ZX-10. That's the response you wanted right? :P

+1 For me its no question i would never trade it ! Totally differnt bike. Besides for the company to admit the minor problem with only 5 complaints is a compliment to the people who ride the 14. They will support there flagship to a higher standard than most companys. Its minor ! If its ok now just get it checked !

I'll give you $200 for your power commander
I'd trade up for the 10...it's faster than the 14

I wouldn't mind having that 10. All I do is play around in the canyons behind my house anyways.

As you know i have a zx14 and a 08 zx10...KEEP the zx14 !!!!!!!!! Yes yes the zx10 is fast and turns great ...BUT after riding my zx10 on the street for 500 miles i would rather have someone hit me in the head with a 2 By 4 before putting a another 500 miles on the zx10 .. I'm sorry there is just not a better bike for the money than the zx14 ...

+1 smokin.......keep the 14......5 complaints out of all the 14's sold worldwide! How many thousands of 14's have been sold? That's what generated all this mess. All be known...these complaints came from people that had their motors removed and reinstalled by an idiot that over tightented the mounts. There are plenty of 14's that have been getting hammered everyday since 06. I work on 14's everyday and have been since they were introduced and have never seen a frame issue out of 200+ customers I have.
The internet has been a great tool at getting sh*t started about anything. Just like the guy that had his wheelie break the front of the frame off. I am still laughing about that one. But some Philadelphia lawyer will jump on that wagon believing the lie the rider is telling him.

My opinion would be to keep the 14! Especially riding 2 up or long travels(no comparison). In addition, I like having somethin a bit different than most and have the power respect behind it. But if your set on trading it, I would be interested in your spocket(might as well turn it back in stock and recover some more funds). Good luck with whatever choice you make.

Thanks for the replies, I think my problem is I used to have liter bikes (gixxers, r1) then I went to busa's. I had corbin seats with backrests for my wife. Well she does not ride that often. I ride with lots of liter bikes and I just miss the handling and wheelies. Dont ge me wrong the 14 will wheelie. In fact I do not think I have not wheelied it EVERY time I ride it. Plus that 10 in all black is just plain bad ass looking. My 14 is blue but I just had everything powder coated black, wheels, rear sets, bolts. As you can tell I am rambling. I guess I will keep the 14 for the 1 more year I have to pay on it. My payment is 495 per month. I only financed it for 18 months when I bought it so I guess next year it will be easier to absorb the loss.

unless you are an uber canyon carver or sunday track corner carver the 14 especially uncorked, is a much better street bike.
Comfort, torque, drivability, fuel range, passenger accomodations, etc much better for the street.
I have friends who ride 1000's and they are done after 2-3 hrs!
I am just getting started... I have put as much as 12 hrs a day on my 14 without issue.
I could have rode more after a good dinner break!
