New to forum

Just wanted to say hi. Just bought my 07 ZX14 SE a few weeks ago. Only has 500 miles so far. Fixxing to go in for my 600 mile check up. All I've done to it so far is removing the mud flap and putting some LED's for the tag light. I'll try and post some pics if I can.

Congrats ! Nice looking bike and welcome ! Power commander, Pull the flies, pipe it, then buy a couple extra back tires. Only thing bad about the bike is its a tire eater.

"pull the flies?" Never heard of that before. Any suggestions on pipes. I'm looking at Akrapovic and D&D maybe even Muzzy. I would love to here some sound clips on a 14 but don't know what to search on the net.

Not sure I know how to edit the photos I barely got them posted. I'm not exactly computer literate.

So what exactly is flies out?

Meaning to remove the secondary butterflies from the throttle bodies. These butterflies are computer controlled to open at a higher RPM, limiting the the bike's power on the bottom end. There's better instructions in this forum on the best way to do it.

This REALLY wakes the 14's up on the bottom end.

Had my bike for damm near a year, allready installed a power commander and did Yosh slip-ons. But was a little afraid of doing any mods to my throttle bodies. But man i am glad i did. Its more user friendly than stock. The secondary butterflies are there to open at around 6500 rpm's to soften, if you will the lower end. If you remove these flies the bike has a strong powerband thru the entire RPM range. Pulls like a train from 1500 instead of 6500. Really Really easy to do. Just remove some plastic then the tank, Just move the tank sideways and leave full lines connected. Then remove the two aluminum covers 3- 10mm on each. get a 11' hardened tip phillips screwdriver. Then apply some good downforce and gently apply pressure until they loosen. Good idea also to have a magnet to keep the screws from falling down into the throttle bodies. There some what easy to strip. Theres pics somewhere here. Then enjoy the beast !

Welcome to the site. The search function is your best friend. Check out the older threads relating to exhaust, flies, etc. You can read for days and have a much better understanding when folks answer your questions.

As far as exhaust...I'm a Brock fan. If I was looking for another exhaust, it would be the Brock Alien-head. Currently have an red '06 with Brocks Gen3&SMEG conversion, flies out, mapped pc3, spencer adjustable lowering links & kickstand, muzzy airshifter, raptor shift light, Velocity 9+ swingarm and other goodies. Lots of stuff you can do with this bike.

If you wanna edit your plate, just use Microsoft paint.

Typical searches:
exhaust
speedohealer
lowering
maps
tires
flies
dampner
oil
frame

If you can't find what you're looking for, or don't have time, someone here can usually answer your question fairly quickly. Again, welcome to the Best IMHO 14/motorcycle site on the web.
