Married men, especially long term married men, are all like brothers: they can get together and always find something in common to talk and BS about. Kinda akin to the way soldiers develop bonds from a shared life altering experience such as war.
Only problem is, only the older men understand that the war was lost the minute they said "I Do". 
If the wedding ring were to symbolize a war medal, it would be a purple heart.
The females wedding ring, however, symbolizes an officers insignia. And you just signed your enlistment papers...

Been with my Old Lady for almost 20 years (14 of the married), as mentioned before ups and downs, and communication is VERY important.
