Knocking motor and all your money back ?

I pull this from psychobike ... Tell me what you think ???

Ok, it’s been a while so I wanted to post and let everyone know the outcome. So the dealer tore the motor down and found number 3 rod to be completely different than the rest. Dealer ordered new rod, bolts, gaskets, everything to put the motor back together.

Dealer took about a week to put the motor back together and got it together on Saturday and was going to test ride it on Tuesday the following week to make sure everything was ready to go and i should be able to pick it up no later than wed. I called the dealer late Tuesday evening. Service manager didn't tell me anything but to call Kawasaki consumer services. I was like WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called the supervisor from Kawasaki consumer service and as soon as i said my name he cut me off and said that I am going to have my claims attorney contact you in the next hour to talk to you about resolving the issue.

Attorney called me and settled to buy the bike back from me due to mechanical failure. I was only told that the motorcycle was not fixed and that it was going to be crated and sent back to California to be tore down and possible sent to engineers in Japan for testing.

Others who have had the same knock issue should contact Kawasaki and look for an answer. Kawasaki had there east coast rep, Kawasaki technical service manager and my dealers lead mechanic all look at the bike, and they replaced several components and never fixed the problem or could advise what the problem was from.

Had i been treated with good customer service in the beginning, and not been pushed off several times, advised that my noise was normal and it could barely be heard with a helmet on, and Not to mention that I had to threaten to get a lawyer involved to even get them to look at the bike I probably would have purchased another zx 14 with the money that Kawasaki paid to buy back my bike. I just lost my confidence in Kawasaki and will probably never buy another Kawasaki ever again.

So the day after my check came in the mail I went and picked up a 08 Busa. (No comments about possible ignition recall haha)

Just wanted to share my story and let you guys who think the "knock" is normal or you can deal with it. It has to concern Kawasaki some what to go to the trouble to buy the bike back from me due to "mechanical failure"

Could be true, but I bet they don't want every buddies back. they may want one to inspect. Maybe his knock was not the same as what ours are. Mine did it since day one like smokings and I just rode the shit out of it! I still see my old bike and it's still running.

For real. But this is crazy. I guess no one has heard of a recall?

I have a 06 and mine doesn't knock at all but you would think that a new vehicle should be designed in a way that eliminates to sound of an old, beat up machine

There's more to this story than what's being presented, smells like the story the earth being flat, and petroleum being a fossil fuel.

Sounds like a Troll to me. Amazing , the trouble some clowns will go to, in order to defame the 14. Just sounds like absolute BS!

Unless a guy gets an absolute LEMON and has countless problems from the start, the factories don't just "BUY" back a vehicle.

+1

1 Gram of differnce in the rods and the motor would last 10 seconds. If it was a lemon it would be a hardleyableson !
