1/8 miles times
This was the second night I have been able to race the bike this year, but the first using 1/8 versus 1/4. The track was having wind problems and set every race up for the 1/8. My first time on the 14 about 3 weeks ago with a best of 9.30 at 148 with a 60ft 1.498. Tonight my best was a 5.92 at 121 with a 60ft of 1.444. I weigh about 190, so what do you think that would translate into 1/4. Hopefully I get a shot at a 1/4 mile pass this Wed. I just need more seat time.

That's not shabby at all. I ran a "bunch" of 5.70s at Mooresville Dragway yesterday but still can't get the mph that some of the faster guys are running. I could only get 121~122 @ 175 lbs, but I was getting 1.36~1.38 60ft. and 3.7s 330 ft. It was a little windy but it shouldn't have hurt me that much.

OK guys tell me where I'm going wrong - I need to GET RIGHT before run a 1/4 mile.
63.5" 16/43 gearing MR9 BMC filter Brock's SMeg w/track-no flies map.

I haven't been able to run any good mph since I put the catalyst seat on. I'm going to try the stock seat today and see if I'm just not getting tucked good. Use to run high 123 an occasionally 124 at 16/42 and 62". Only changes made since last year was the seat / +1 tooth on the rear and another 1 1/2 wheelbase.

maybe the gearing, the bike might have the torque to pull more gear

I'm going back to a 42T rear this Thursday and gonna take the stock seat with me as well to try 3 passes both ways.

I lost more than a few races where I was absolutely flying on the back end of the track, reeling the guy next to me in by 10' chunks.... and it didnt matter, his hole shot and better traction where too much to overcome.
First guy past the lights wins, which is the ONLY ironclad rule in drag racing.

Spyder636, other then the 60' (the.44) thats about what I've run on mine, I still have not made a 1/4 mile pass. 00Busa, Looks damm near perfect to me ! But your right, it does'nt seem like mph shoulda dropped much if any at all, but what do I know, I've had my issues tryin to 60' (only been in the .40's a cpl times this yr), @ 63 1/2", 15/44, 190 suited.

15/44 seems like a whole lot of gear, you sure it's not 16/44 ?
I'm running 16/41 ..I have tried a 16/42 but all i did was wheely....I think if you went 16/44 at your weight it would be way to much gear ...I would leave the gears as is for now and put back on your seat and see what happens ...

Silver08 I have seen more that one guy at 225 pounds run low 6.0s to high 5.90s in the 1/8 mile ..That seems to get them in the low 9.20s to high 9. teens in the 1/4 mile ...Now understand these guy have some seat time , they just didn't jump on the bike and run those numbers first time out ..But those number are reachable at your weight ...

Silver08, those 5.90s are right around the corner (seat time). After running 5.83 and 5.81 on your bike with less than perfect "leaves", I'm sure I will go 5.70s on yours too. Give yourself a little credit, 6.00s not too shabby for 3rd time at the track !

Silver08, are you going to Shadyside this Saturday ? The track has been rented from 12~8 / /a;; the passes you can stand ! I'm going to leave BP @1:00 riding 00 up there, the 14 will be on the trailer - MR9 too high for a 60 mile trip !!!
