If your bike is without Turbo or Nitrous then try a 40 tooth at the rear.
I use 17/40 to go 203mph in still conditions.
18/41 got me to 205mph but that was a bit overgeared for the power my engine was making, just lucky with a tail wind that day.
If you have a Turbo etc then it will pull a higher gear.

That's quite interesting.
You have 225 at the crank and 17/39 gave you 326 km/h
I have 192.9 at the rear wheel and 17/40 gave me 326 km/h (203 mph)
Different conditions and track, getting the correct gearing is SO important.
For comparison, a friend of mine got a standard 1400 (17/41 gearing and stock exhaust) to 198.7 mph, with a big tail wind, it hit the engine rev limiter just as it reached the speed trap. (Speedo Healer fitted of course ).
This means the true engine rev limiter is at 10500 rpm, (ignore the optimistic rev counter which will be showing around 11300 rpm)
Using this figure:
max speed on 17/40 should be 203.6 mph or 327.7 km/h
max speed on 17/39 should be 208.8 mph or 336 km/h
Answering the original question, if you are 240lbs suited you may have a problem with aerodynamics. This is just as important as power and gearing for high speeds. If you can't tuck in behind the fairing you won't do it. Maybe a drag seat would help, as does lowering the bike and removing mirrors and so on. Good luck, let us know how you go.

Those choices would leave you under-geared. With 17/42 you'd only get to 193 mph before the limiter cuts in and with 17/43 even worse at 189 mph.
As a rule of thumb: one tooth on the rear is about 5 mph either way and one tooth on the front is about 12 mph. (that's approximately, before I get flamed)
The standard 17/41 will only reach 198 before the engine rev limiter cuts it. So you'd have to go down one tooth at the rear, minimum, to reach a true 200.

Last year I used 18/38 - will go to 18/37 this year..... that will do it in 5 gears on asphalt. complete with no wheel spin or wheelies in the launch. At Bonneville you need to allow for 4% to 8% wheel spin - so I hear....... but ask the experts to confirm. BTW - I have only made it to 192 before running out of track at Maxton - 187 and no more traction at Bonneville. 220lbs.

The true engine rev limiter is 11,000 - dyno and acquistion proven. - but that number sounds right to me - give or take for tire wear....
BTW - Dragseat sucks for big men..... thin profile custom corbin and then stand on the pegs lifting up an inch or so in the saddle - no cawl is my conclusion..... but not definitive 80% certainty.

Capone- What is your target Hp? You can reach 200mph with around 230-240hp.
I weigh 250 in gear, with 225Hp and 6% slippage I was able to go just 200. I believe you will need a bit more gearing though, my tire was spinning 212 on the 200pass.
I used 18-40 at 64" of length which hurt traction, bike and rider were 765lbs.
You can do it, give us some of your mods, did Ace do the motor?
If so he will make sure you go over for sure.
Best of luck hope to see you in Oct.!

Whatever you do, make sure you bring different sprocket combo's. Weather conditions will effect your speed, this may change which combo is optimal.
P.S. - To get in the Maxton 200mph club, you need to break a record over 200mph. Unfortunately, simply going 200mph at Maxton does not get you in the club. Check out the ECTA website (www.ecta-lsr.com) to see what the record is in your class, this way you know what to shoot for. Good luck bro, hope to see you there!

Do it right and take it to the track........ Practice at drag strips - you will need to get to 150 in the quarter to have a prayer at 200 in the mile. Seriously - these kinds of speed are track only ventures - be responsible - be safe - have fun - and think about others as well as your self when making preparation for playing at speed.
