Mine made a LITTLE over 200 wink wink. and I think my Muzzy stickers shaved a couple of tenths off my E.T.

HP numbers.

Hi there,

A couple questins from the newb here ...

1. Are the 200hp numbers based on a stock engine?

I found this statement made by Rob ...
"The new pipe is the result of our Pro Stock and 1530/1580 engine development. "

So ... that got me wondering if the HP numbers where on that engine build.

2. Is the M14 quieter than the Brocks Smeg?

Thanks,

... Bonzai

I can!! The M-14 oval can on my bike made more horsepower then my SMEG Barely but it did make 1 hp more at peak same MPH and E.T. with 330 times a little slower then they were on my SMEG which tells me it will get faster when we get the clutch worked out ...as soon as I get my Megphone M-14 I will post some other info on it and yes the oval can is quieter then the SMEG sounds really good and throaty though And I AM SURE the numbers were on a stock 14 engine, I DOUBT VERY SERIOUSLY IF A 1530/1580 engine only made 200 hp

Thanks for the info. I saw on Muuzzy's site that their strokers make upwards of 240 HP, so I kind of thought the 200hp was a stock build.

Do you think the M14 makes more HP under the curve like the the M10 did over the Smeg?

The oval can doesnt look too bad, and if it produces the same HP over the Smeg I may just roll with that.
Please please please post pics of the Muzzy Meg when you can.

Thanks,

... Bonzai

Now this pipe looks the same as the older Muzzy stainless pipe.
I've read the description but can anyone compare the old pipe vs this M14.
Is the larger diameter head pipes the "main" difference and why its making this power?
Honestly I thought the unveiling on this M14 was some unique designed pipe.

New Headers same canister. There is a Megaphone style M-14. I think they are gonna use all their traditional style canisters with the new header designs

Hmmm....

I'm not sold on the 200hp claim if the only thing that has been redesigned are the "Large diameter tapered headpipes".

Was the 200hp a dyno map on a dyno, or street/track map?

It's too early in the product stages to get a true feeling of what the M14 has to offer. Maybe with more rider reports or a detailed description of the 200hp setup things will become more clear.

The AD says Dyno tested at OVER 200hp!*, it doesn't say just to 200hp so it could have came from testing on a 1530/1580.

I have a full Muzzy system, stainless header with titanium muffler. What would the performance gains be between my pipe & the M14? Does anyone know? If so please let me know. Thanks again!

I would guess 8 HP or more if what I remember about the original Muzzy pipe is accurate. this info has been verified by RIckey Gadson as well he told me the M-14 made between 6-10 more HP at peak then the M-10. you may could just buy the midpipe and header assembly and keep your canister It is definately worth checking into if ULTIMATE performance is your goal.

Yo!

Ok, some time has passed under the bridge, or was that supposed to be water under the bridge? Anyway ....

I need to bite the bullet on either the Brocks SMEG or Muzzy M14/Megaphone combo. bike night last night was tuff on my wife's feet, she said too damned hot!

Time to rip off the stock exhaust and do the cookie cutter Flies+PC3-USB+Exhaust build.

So the question is now that we have folks who have switched from Brocks SMEG to M14-Mega, was it worth it?

Who has better support, Brocks or Muzzy? I see Rob posting here but I don't see any activity from Brock on the 08 ZX-14 anymore.

Thanks,

... Bonzai

You won't ever beat Brocks map support in my opion. I'm sure the m14 is a fine pipe as well.

I spoke with Lynn and he gave me something that I could not refuse. I will post pictures of the install and definitely write up about the whole installation. I cant wait to for the box...Its like christmas again. I also will be removing my secondaries.....so I know I will have a big improvement in feel overall

Yo!

+1 for pointing that link out. I see the M14 / M10 combo for 799.00. Hmmm, I may be making a purchase tongiht.

I just realized for street use I don't think I'd (my butt dyno) be able to tell the difference between Muzzy's or Brocks.

I'm so damned confused.

Hmmm,

You are saying that Muzzy's does not know what its retailers are selling their products for?

Or, are you a employee of Muzzy's trying to artificially stimulate a supply/demand scenario? Hehe j/k.

I do not think the marketing folks at Muzzy's is that far out of touch with their own market segment, the 20% discount could be a stimulous to boost sales of a new product.

As iff purchasing a system wasn't confusing enough, now comes the economics.
