Belly Pan Removal
Ok. I am trying to get the belly pan lowers off. I have all of the fasteners and the front pop rivet off but I can't seem to get the trick of releasing the hook or whatever that keeps it attached to the upper. I don't want to break it. Do you pull out? Back?
I got the oil changed without totally taking it off but I would like to know for future projects.

grab the bottom of the lower fairing and pull it towards you. it will hinge where it meets the upper and should come off when it's perpendicular to the upper. the left side you may have to stand the bike up because it will hit the ground when it's on the stand. hopefully this helps.

yes thats the trick mark. Also, if you are pulling the rest of the fairings off remember this: they are all interlinked to one degree or another. I was very frustrated my first time working on my 14 until I realized that. Good luck just pulling off 1 panel...

You must have to give it quite a pull as I tried that. I'll try more force next time.

you must have missed one bolt!
There are 2 bigger bolts on each side of the lowers, in addition to the 4 little ones and center push pin....
The lowers will literally flap in the wind once all hardware is removed, but as they have said, you will have to have the bike off the side stand so the left lower will clear the floor.

Nope. All of the bolts were out. It would not release from the top center portion.
