New to the forum just checkin in
Hey just wanted to say hello and check into the forum. I recently sold my green zx-12r (the faster color) and decided to take on a winter project with a zx-14. I must admit, I was a little apprehensive about getting rid of my zx-12r. I had put in a lot of time and love into it but the world moves on to bigger and better things. I went to a local Harley dealer in Atlanta and had the priveledge of test riding a used zx-14. I found the bike incredibly smooth and refined in comparison to the zx-12r . My 12r had 3mm overbore and full exhaust so the comparison in power with stock zx-14 would be a little unfair but the 14 was not very far off. I was able to get a very good sale price for my zx-12r and decided to purchase a zx-14. But me being me I can never do things the easy way. I decided to purchase a 2007 Rolling chassis and 20007 engine that had a little over 600 miles on it. Im currently in the process of getting all the little odds and ends together that will be needed. So far the list of items needed are:
Wiring Harness
Fuel Pump
Sensor Level Fuel Tank Sending Unit
Full Exhaust (Will probably start with stock exhaust)
Left and Right Handlebar Switches
LCD gauge cluster
Was able to pick up the engine and Rolling chassis for a little over $5k so I feel like im doing well so far. Plus I needed a project anyway. What better way to learn about a new bike than building it up. I have found the information gained from here incredibly helpful. Will keep you updated on a newbies experience building up a zx-14.

Welcome to the board...a great place to be.....I have a full Muzzy SS with aluminum round can in perfect condition with 1500 miles on it. I also have 2 08 complete stock systems in perfect condition, taken right off brand new bikes, o miles. If you are wanting stock, the 08's are the ones to have. The head pipes are 6mm larger, the catalizer is a little larger and has larger openings. It will give you more low and mid power than the previous years stock systems. PM me for details on price. Location is Greenville, SC. not too far from Marietta...Thanks

Welcome to the board.
My very first street bike was a mostly totaled gsxr1000 i bought, which i rebuilt myself.
One of my favorite bikes, for that very reason.
Good luck, and keep an eye on flea bay, psychobike, bikeland, and zx14ninja.com classifieds.
with the weather changing soon, things will pick up quick.
Guys were saleing complete rolling chasis, everything less the car kit engine removal, for about $3000 last fall.
