Just have to use the block off plates; no need to remove anything. I didn't find that the block offs made any difference in the popping either though. It did on my Busa's, but not really on the ZX14.

Not hard to take off but is hard to get at just takes a little time do not belive there is a horsepower gain some weight saving and if you need to get in that area to work on something like change the plugs makes thing a little easier I took the pump off and the factory plates like stated above does not help the poping only advantage I see is for getting to the area a little easier. Also have been told to get a true air/Fuel reading off of a dyno this should be unhooked.

When you remove the kleen air system you should always plug the hole in the bottom right side of the air box, ( where the large hose goes into the rubber grommet. DO NOT LEAVE OPEN...this will deffinately make it pop. Plugging the hole reduces or eliminates the popping all together, provided your PC is mapped correctly. I recommend pulling the hose out, cut off to about 3" long, plug one end of it, then sick it back into the grommet with about 1.5" hanging out. Or if you can locate a plug the size of the hole with grommet removed use it.
