The 08 shootouts aren't in yet, but i suspect the newly designed R6 winner will beat last years winner (CBR600RR).
I also suspect '08 ZX6R will stay in last as it was in '07. It was blasted for being the weakest since going back to 600 from 636.

Kawasaki all the way...shootout....smootout.......all the 600's are so close year in and year out...we're talking 100ths of sec's dif. It's all about whos the pilot. Kawasaki power and quality always comes first. We'll see who's first on race day...that's the true shootout.

Man, Kawi had the only disaster bike in the 07 shootouts!

If they dont do something with the power delivery on the R6 I would avoid it like the plague it makes a good track bike but all around street and track I think the honda is the way to go! if you want a true 600 if you dont mind and OUT OF CLASS bike the Daytona 675 is an awesome machine, but if you are buying it for your wife she might be too short for it and I dont think they make a lowering kit for it.

+1 That Daytona 675 is AWESOME but ya, out of 600 class. It was included in a lot of shootouts with 600's for lack of something better to compare to

Well fellas, Im in the market for my "backup bike", aka track bike, since I sold my TL1000R. I was thinking ZX-10, but that 675 Daytona is such a beautiful bike, and a track monster. Just wondering if any of you have ridden one? Is it a bigger bike that a tall guy can fit on? How about for a newer rider to learn on? My brother and son will be riding it sometimes, dont want a finnicky beast like the TLR was for them. And dont want to be outrun by my own 14 on the straights, either. Especially by my brother... we're a wee bit competitive! lol
BTW I threw the only vote for the GSXR 600. HeHe just KNEW that no one had voted for a Suzuki on a zx14 forum.

Nice video, thanks!
I think this is the bike of bikes this year regarding the race track.
I'm so tempted to sell my old 600RR for one of these as a track weapon, but I'm not fast enough to matter nor make it to the track often enough to practice getting fast enough to justify one ____________

Well all
Thank you for the help.
Picked up her 2007 CBR600RR in Pearl White and Silver Friday night. Rode home from New Braunfels to Corpus Christi (180 MI) in the freezing cold rain and a rather fun thunderstorm. What an adrenaline rush; last summer I rode my 14 home form DFW to CC 465 mi the day I picked it up in 100+degree WEAX! Definitely broke it in! So hit the other end of the spectrum for wifey. Now she has her dream sport bike...bottom line, it just fit HER the best and she flat footed it without lowering it. She is safer on a bike that instills the most confidence in her. No white 675 and its too tall in the saddle, the 848 is a little big for her first sport bike...and she loves the limited color. So all is well at home after I thawed out from my night ride. Definitely instense with rain and winds not to mention wind chill at 75-80 mph! Gotta love it.
stevewfl...thanks for the Honda input...any heads up or suggestions on bettering her 600 would be appreciated.
