all bike race Muncie Indiana

Just wanted to get some feedback from you guys in the area. Muncie Dragway is under new ownership and has already been resurfaced. The new owner and I have been discussing an all bike race on a Sunday, most likely June 29th. Entry would probably be about $50 on the high side for Street ET and we are also discussing a shootout class as well. This guy likes bikes and for the first time in a long time we are not going to be treated like step children, I know it is a few months away but I wanted to hear from you. Muncie is about an hour north of Indianapolis, Indiana.

They finally re-surfaced Muncie? God, it is about time. That track needed some work! I hope they got rid of the dip @ the end of the track.

I am down for an all bike shootout! I know alot of riders in Indy that would come out; both to just to watch and to race.

I'd make the trip out to watch, sounds like fun, haven't been to Muncie since the Z28.

Yup im a wednesday regular. I went to the meeting they had before winter and i'm going for the one in the spring. I'm trying to figure out what's going on for wednesday night test and tune. I was told i need'ed to buy a licenses last year to run on saturdays...why would i pay $75 to run plus admission when i can make 10-15 pass's on a wednesday night. I seen the track and it looks good. I hope it hooks and doesnt take to long to come around.

We talked quite a bit at the meating flatout, I have the red 14. I am not sure what is going on with liscense passes, the new owner seems to be by the book so if we want to run there on a regular basis we may all have to get liscensed. I guess I can see his side, don't want to get in a mix with NHRA your first year as an owner. Not to mention it almost bit Roger in the arse when that kid went down on the big end and his parents threatened to sue. And yes the dip is gone, smooth all the way down and a ton of shut down area, should be a fast track. As far as traction, before he opens he is bringing in NHRA and VHT to help him get he traction there from the first race. They are saying that they are going to put down a crazy amount of VHT and let us give it hell to get a good base.

"Dash for Cash" You should get a hold of Tim, he ran a really good race and had a real following!

Some of us have had that very discussion. I would love to see it happen, you can't go racing around here and not still talk of the "dash". When you talk to others from around the mid-west that is one of the first things that comes up. Must have been a blast.

I have a lot of pictures from the dash and I know Dave Schnitz has even more. I saw one of Ryan when he was about 4 years old setting on a tailgate with the staging lanes full of 300+ bikes in the background!

I am also a somewhat regular at Muncie. I think it would be sweet to have a all bikes night. Has anyone heard exactly what the new rules and regulations are going to be. I just hope hooking up isnt a problem this year.

I will keep you guys posted, the new owner seems to be open to a lot of things Roger wasn't. I think traction will be good after they soak the track in VHT, Dave, the owner, said he wants some guys to come over that day and run on it and tell him what we think. The way I look at it all of us on bikes with street tires will have the most difficlulty so if we leave that day happy everbody should be pleased. My gut feeling is we will have to get liscensed, which shouldn't be that big a deal, we just give Dave some time slips and the money and he will send it in. I know a lot of the Wednesday night guys may have to spend some money on leathers but nobody said you have to get Vanson's, even though I really like mine, I raced my first three years in AGV leathers that I only had a few hundred bucks in. I would love to see you Wed. guys there on Saturday's, it looks like the pay out will be good and with open time runs I am betting we will be able to get a ton of passes in. The best part about smoking a clutch is winning enough money on that race to pay for a new one. As far as the bar bikes go, I had one and think we are very capable of winning some races. Afterall, half the time the dinosaurs have a hard time not breaking something, again I had one and I know this all too well.

Ah I didn't realize this was you. Yea i have no problems getting a licenses i just seen no point in spending $75 for someone to watch me make 3 pass. I wasn't too worried last year with coming on wednesday nights because it was alot more laid back and one of the few days i could make it too the track. I know i should have leathers....i told myself all last year i need'd a set. I'm going to buy a set this year but not till the last minute. I'm dropping weight this year (down 22 pounds so far) and want them to fit bye summer. I havent even touched the bike since the last time i went to the track. I got alot of work to do in the next few months.
I think the track will be ok as long as they drag it. That was half the problem all along. They would spray the track, then we would have to wait till the slick cars packed it down alittle to get decent traction.

Theres a guy on Psychobike.com that is trying to put together a Dash for Cash 2.

Jarhead, this is Mitch, the other guy you talked to at the banquet. (rides the 1000)

I talked to some of the wednesday nite guys and they want to stay on Wednesdays, we get more runs in on wednesdays. And entry is more on saturdays. I see no reason to pay 35 or 40 bucks to get 3-4 passes in depending on how far you go, Wednesday is 20 bucks and If you get there early (like we do) you can get 12-15 If you want.

I certainly understand where you guys area coming from, I had a great time on the few Wednesdays that I went down there. To be honest, if I didn't work nights I would have to really consider doing the same. I will try to get a few Wednesdays off this year and come down. If I can get this Sunday race going I will let you guys know, again we could do a track day as well like Busa Tamer mentioned, maybe get the guys who just want to run and not race in the gate a little cheaper. From past bike races I have been to, there is plenty of time for both. Hey Mitch, if you have a minute could you get me an email or phone number of the guy on Psychobike, I would love to get ahold of him, if he would be willing to persue it so would I, I think we could have a great time with it.
