I'm surprised you guys that read the article didnt mention a very large diss to the '08 Busa in there:
"The '08 Busa was a handful on the racetrack...when you clamp on the binders just north of 175 you feel the front end pack down and start weaving under all that weight... Even with the chassis upgrades, the new 'Busa still came apart like a cheap pair of shoes in as little as four fast laps, liquefying the stock street tires on both ends, boiling the brake fluid and smearing hot, melted brake pad all over the rotors."
"... it was more at home on the drag strip, where we had test rider Greg Moon run the '07 and '08 bikes back to back... ('07 Busa) Moon described the bike as 'so easy' to ride, and proved it by clicking off a half-dozen virtually identical passes. By contrast, he said the '08 bike was 'virtually unlaunchable' in stock form. (steeper gearing, more power, and hvy exh. cans) made the new bike wheelie hard and prevented 150-pound Moon from reaching wide open throttle in first and second gear. The new bike still went quicker and faster (10.135 sec @ 142.54mph), but this was mostly due to the superior top-end power... in stock form it's a challenge for even an experienced drag racer."
So without them saying it, I take it that the 14 still has a large edge in brakes and stability at high speeds, and (specially the '08 14) a much easier bike to launch at the drag strip. Not to mention the amount of average to rookie Busa owners at drag strips all around the nation that will be getting owned by older Busa and 14 riders of the same skill level. I smell a "fix" coming out from Suzuki in the near future to solve those launching problems at least. Don't want the disgruntled 'masses' turning on there cherished icon.
FYI: That is not meant to rip on Bentley or others of his calibur. Those guys will just rise to the top even more so now. And they will keep us 14 owners on our toes - cuz you never know who's under that helmet next to you lol.
