08 Busa HYPE!
I know I don't post much, but I had to on this one.
I got both my Motorcyclist and Suoer Street Bike Mags today. On the cover of BOTH mags was the 08 Busa.
On the cover of the Motorcyclist, it says "We knew it was better than the old Busa, but not by this much!" They do a side by side comparison of the new and old Busas.
I just think this is another marketing scheme to get all these old Busa owners to jump on the new Busa Bandwagon and drive sales. Making it seem as if the old Busa is a piece compared to the new one.
Why are they comparing the old vs. the new? Whay not compare it to something that is in its league like the 08 14.
Oh, BTW, they have in really small font in the corner "New 08 14"
Just my rant, ahhh! I feel better to have that off my chest.

The magazines like the Suzuki 'busa because of its success brand loyalty. If they write anything Suzook, it sells magazines of course. They'll compare it to old, they'll soon shootout, etc etc etc they'll write to the end of time and Suzook will again see sales through the roof and round and round :P

I like both the busa and 14 but gotta agree with steve. No matter what the '08 14 does performance wise the majority of mags will be roughly saying "OMFG TeH New Buusa Is TEh PwNage Cuz It's new yOu KaWi N00bZ!!"

You know how it is. Kaw can't get no love whenever the word Busa comes up. That's just how it is. I'd say, out of the big 3 mags between, Sportrider, Cycle World and Motorcyclist. Sportrider is about the most unbias between the 3 as far as not being so damn partial and showing favortism between one brand bike over the other.

I don't have a problem with Sportrider because the aren't partial and the don't play the favorites, in my opinion like the other two mags plus they are much more informative in comparison. CycleWorld is always kissing the Busa's ass.

Best bike mag is Road Racer X. If you don't have a subscription to RRX, you should look into it.
The other rags are driven by advertising dollars; whoever pays them the most gets the most press.

I just let my subscription to RoadRacerX expire. I had 6months of it and liked it, but it wasn't something I wanted to keep. I have been a subscriber to SPORTRIDER though since 2003 and it doesn't expire until 2009, but I will keep subscribing after that. I love that magazine! I've ridden with and met Kent Kunitsugu(editor) too, so that makes it even cooler!

Well i have to be honest here, I've had an 02 and an 04 Busa and now the 08 and it really is that much better then the old ones it's not hype. besides being 25 hp stronger after a pipe it is smoother, rides better, handles better, and stops better and the fuel injection is spot on to me before and after the pwr commander. gauges are much nicer the list goes on.

The brit mags are pretty decent at times too. I haven't forgotten how Performance Bikes mag tested the Zx-14's ability by running it in the cannonball run there. Rode it hard, was hunting down A elite group of cannonballers on 1k's (Even in the curves) and outran who knows how many lawboys there even after suffering one spill and STILL finishing 3rd overall. Said and proved the 14 was a spot on bike.

The UK weekly, MCN has been guilty of comparing the 2008 Hayabusa to the old Hayabusa and the 2006/7 ZX-14 whilst ignoring the fact that 2008 Kawasaki would be the bike to compare it with. They even showed some video of the 2008 'Busa failing to catch a 2006 ZX-14 on the runway at Bruntingthorpe and then inexplicably proclaimed the Suzuki to be "faster everywhere".
I know the 2008 Kawasaki is not available in the UK yet but they do seem to have their corporate nose planted firmly between Suzuki's buttocks at times.

Bently is a good guy, and from his posts he has given us all honest opinions with sensible reasoning of why he chose the bike he chose. Who cares if he rides a Busa and posts on a 14 site? It is all about people who love bikes regardless of what they ride... let's not turn this into some stupid Blood and Crips garbage.
Back to the subject though; I got My Motorcyclist magazine in the mail just yesterday (only subscription I have thus far), and I was excited because I assumed that the shootout would be in there. I was pissed to discover that it had this HUGE spread on the new vs. old Busa and barely even a quip on the 14 buried on page 15 mixed in with the other 08's. Not only did they not discuss it but they also added the line, "The $11.699 ZX-14's '08 enhancements are relatively subtle, but intake and exhaust changes boost power everywhere, especially down low. Whether it's enough to stay ahead of the new 'Busa remains to be seen."
C'mon! It doesn't take a genius to see that this shootout is going to be all rider! No way are the Busas' upgrades going to be SO amazing that it is going to be able to spank the 14 as if it were 250... there's just no way!

Thanks Ninja knight there are just a few poeple that are total idiots in life no matter what the situation like I said before 1300 some post and not one bit of info just stupid ass post running the total up. Now back to the 14 the press release is going on right know so I would think in a couple more months you will see the 14 busa shootout lets face it no matter the outcome it will sell the shit out of magizines. And actuall Motorcyclist statements are dead on. the tranny in the new Busa shifts better then any bike I've had. oh ya and pathetic is running your keyboard . not posting about a bike no matter what it is.
