GREAT NEWS!! Brocks "06" ZX-14 9.002 @ 155.24.......Testing "08" 14 tomorrow

Just got word from Brock in an e-mail, below. His 06 14 with Chip on it ran 9.002 @ 155.24. Getting ready to do the tests for the "08" 14 starting tomorrow for Bikeland. Great News! We all have been waiting on this. I'll keep you posted.

Subject: ZX-14 Diary Bike at Gainesville

Guys,

We have my 06 ZX-14 Diary Bike set up identical (Alien Head/tires with the same pressure, same amount/type of fuel etc.) to Chronic the 08 Busa to use as a gauge for the new AMA/Prostar Supersport class for 2008. Chip Ellis ran 9.002@155.24 last night on my 14.

FYI: I am flying out of Florida to morrow to test the 08 ZX-14 in California for dragbike.com

Thanks!

Brock

damn that 06 is still a force. whats wrong with that busa? With all that power it should be running away. Just kidding. Fast bikes for sure. I know for sure how hard it is 2 run a 8 sec pass. i was at 9.00 all yr. this war is great.

Shit, wait'll Brock get ahold of that "08" 14! We really going to see some big numbers if the "06" 14's doing what it's doing.

I'm on a busa now but that 06 14 is hauling as well. I say if Brock had an 08 14 at gainsville it would have went the same as the Busa. which I've been saying all along the 08's would be .10 to .15 faster then the 06. But when your talking 9'0s to 8.90's it takes alot to pick up et.

But now we are dealing with a totally different track, at a completey different location. Too bad they couldn't have tested the 08 14 at the same time. And if the new 14 produces better times in California, then you know it'll be said that the air quality was better or that the track hooked and launched the bike quicker. And if the 14's times are slower, then the air & track will be the reasons from Kaw's side. The ONLY real way to test these new 08 beasts is as I said before... Bring in both sides with both bikes and conduct a fair test on the same track on the same day. A good old "Put up or shut up competition".

Bro,
I think Brock will still have the 08 busa, and will likely do just that once he sets the 08 14 up!

I'm with you qwick. I been saying this all along myself. Both bikes, "08" 14 vs "08" Busa, side by side, same day, same track, same rider, same mods, same dyno, etc. It's inevitable. Eventually it's gonna happen. It's gotta happen. These two bikes are at the top of the game, much like the Lakers and the Celtics back in the day for years. (To use a sports analogy). Which ever bike shows up that day will be the one with the best numbers. There will not be a blowout between these two bikes. It'll be close everytime. That's how Kaw and Suzuki wanted it. This is big business at it's best.

i think Brock will find the 08 to pick up power with miles. I picked up ~5whp from 250-500 miles on my 08 14. the Kawa motors must be built tight, and need some time to loosen up. Ricky G picked up considerable power from switching to 2wt race oil in his 08, more so than i have seen posted before. My old CBR1000 picked up power all the way to ~1200miles, with no mods. I think if i dynoed again at 1000miles it would pick up another 2-5whp.

with this being said, an 08 busa put down about 5 more rwhp than my 08 14 the other day on the same dyno, back to back.

anyone have thoughts on this??

If you read Rickey's post on psychobikes, he said the 14 needs to be heat cycled a lot more, I think he said it needs almost 10 pulls to make peak power and picks up power after every pull.
