Ricky went 9.10 on 08 14

Rickys write up from another board
So today was the 1st time I got to ride this thing in the 1/4 since adding the pipe and the fuel, and it is begging for a power commander.

I went 9.10 at only 151.92 best, but the bike is too lean I belie
ve on the top end as it only picks up 28 mph on the back half,, when it was picking up almost 30 with the stock pipes and pump gas.
It should be running 155 or so.

I will run an 9.0 somethin today.

Ps- Chip went 9.12 on his 1st pass last night on Brocks Busa and Richard went 9.06.
I think both these bikes have 8's in them.

As you have said all along, the two bikes are equal IMO too. Too damn close to call.

Great passes for both bikes.

right now the Busa out Mph the 14 pretty bad IMO 151 to 155, But I'm Guessing Ricky will fix that today maybe with a power commnader. right now I feel both bikes are modded about the same except the pwr commander, I assume ricky still has the weight on his and I don't think brock does. Ricky did not say what his 60 ft was, but on the 9.06 for richard he had a 1.57 which is no where near what ricky was getting on his 5.80 runs.

Who is riding each bike , where are they and what is each riders weight?
These can make a big difference.

both in gainsville, ricky on the 14 165 in street clothes, Richard on the Busa I think 150 to 155 in street clothes. I think the mph difference is from no pwr commander right now. I expect the 14 to hit 155 as well. I'm not posting to bash either bike just info.

I would love to see that myself, the 06 zx14 went 9.04@155mph with the street meg in a head wind, it has the Alien head on it now and may just put down a 8.$$ something if he lets someone ride it, so far from what I'm seeing posted niether bike is any better after mods than the 06, they are all right there together.

brocks tuning will help the 14 no doubt, can't believe ricky wouldn't have a pclll on it to start with

U figure if the u4 is making it run lean on top then its loosing hp ,so put some pumpgas in it and it should gain hp and mph.

There was post on here stating the PC for the 08 zx14 wasn't available yet even though DJ has it listed so that could be the reason.

It would slow up with the weight off as he would not pull those 1.40 60fts he's had. weight in the right place helps not hurts.

don't see why the old PClll woudn't work on the 08, i doubt they changed the wiring or hookups
i bet they just haven't had time to get 200+ dyno runs and trips to the track "brock style"
must be all the busa time he is investing in.
smokin ran wicked times with brock maps on his 06 and i'm sure the 08 bikes would benefit greatly from his tuning when(if) he is available

I thought the same thing Bigdtd, but maybe the power commander will be different, The 08 Busa power commander now plugs into the secondary injectors instead of the normal 2 big plugs. and also needs taped into the tps sensor. Maybe the 08 14 will be on that order.
