Hello From a New Member

H everyone. I've been checking out your forum. I'm a current R1 owner at the moment but I came across a deal the other day. A guy I know needs to unload his 2007 ZX-14 and offered to sell it to me for $8000. It's bone stock with 400 miles and the special edition white paint. Now I've always liked the ZX-14 and sort of secretly wanted one so now if I can unload my R1 soon enough I might be able to pick his up. The problem is the limited amount of time I have. You see he is going through a divorce and it sounds like he is needing to move it fairly fast. I don't have the money right now to just go buy it so the R1 has to go first. It's sort of a challenge because I have more than the purchase price in Mods on the R1 so I don't want to let it go for cheep and I don't think I have the time to part it out. Anyway If I can make it happen I will be seeking advice from this site for the typical recommended mods etc. it should be fun. I've had Yamaha's for quite some time and have a lot of info on what works and what doesn't but when it comes to Kawasaki and the ZX-14 I'm pretty much clueless. Here is a link to a few photos of the R1. Hopefully I will be back in a few weeks with that ZX-14

Thanks guys. The bike is a 2002 I picked it up new in December of 2002 I really like it but I'm sort of ready for another project. If I don't get rid if it soon I fear that I will end up spending more money on Carbon fiber or something ridiculous like a super charger

welcome to the board!
For sure I would hang on to the wheels if I were you...
With a few parts they will fit the 14, or any other late model for hat matter...

... and you will never recoup the money spent by selling them with the bike...

keep the wheels, even if you have to source used stock ones for the sale...

You and stevewfl should hook up, if you know much about the 2007 R1 from hangin on R1 forums you guys could share alot of info... he just sold his zx14 and bought an R1

Hoove:

Welcome to the board. Make sure you look up Stevewfl since he just bought an R1 and your selling yours. He's looking to trick his out and after seeing your R1, you 2 would have alot of info to exchange. That said, we here love our 14's here so enjoy.

Welcome to the board hoove. Your R1's nice, especially the carbon fiber rims. If you get the 14, you'll be happy with it.

Thanks Guys. I hope I get the r1 sold soon or I will miss out on that good deal for the 2007 ZX-14.
What ever happens I've sort of got ZX-14 on the brain and I'm looking forward to a new project so I think I've made up my mind that I must have one Perhaps It will just take a little longer than I thought. Maybe if I miss the deal I'll have to wait a while and pick up the 2008. We'll see... I'm sure you all know the hassles of selling bikes 'everyone wants it until it's for sale then they don't have the money.
